what did i do wrong?

as a mother i wanted to help my son to open up his problem to me and to his father.
I heard to my niece that my son has problem but he could not say to his father or to me for he afraid to see the reaction of his father.
One night i have a one on one conversation to my husband about our son, but i havent finish talking to him because he got mad to my son.
His blood pressure got high and said he had done what is the best for his son, he wants our son to be more independent in his early age and if he did a mistakes for giving our son the right path then he said that he will give all the decision to me.
What should i do to make my husband realize that not all the time he is always right? I know that we have trials now and i have notice him he dont want to listen family problems and much more our son's problem especially school problems.

that is why your kid wont open up with you because they might afraid that if they says it you wont listen because instead they tell you .. you are going to tell about your past experience which is not good... do not be self center we have to listen and feel what our kids feelings ..... we have to talk to our kids.... we have to tell them properly that we are always here for them no matter what happened but they have to do their responsibility also they have to study well... and being a parents we have to let them open about their crushes everything about them we have to know ... even they are outside we have to monitor them .... then show to them our full support .. we have to appreciate what ever achievement they have no matter it is worthless to you... we have to show we are happy what they achieve so that they are more motivated to study!

i guess you are right he never open up to us because we believe that he can manage his self and know what is he doing, but i am wrong he needs us. Because i his stage of age he have many doubts on his self and need to comfort to smoebody but because the absence of our presence he try to be the center of attraction at school so that we will be called our attention to his teacher.
