I got this in a recipe newsletter I am subscribed to. I thought it was such a neat idea. I've never made an actual christmas gingerbread house, but have always wanted to. Has anyone ever made anything like this? I would like to try it with my little boy, but I am wondering how hard it would be to do. I wanted to try it for a fun halloween activity, but I don't want something that's going to take all day to do. http://www.recipe4living.com/Recipes/Recipe.aspx?id=64010

A haunted gingerbread house--I never thought of it before but it seems so obvious. After all, haunted houses are such a big part of the Halloween imagery. Funny how we only associate gingerbread with Christmas. I will definitely give this one a try! Thank you for sharing.

I have never tried to make a gingerbread house, it looks like fun but I don't know if it would take too long, I don't like things that take the whole day either, I think I would try making a Christmas gingerbread this year, I don't have kids yet but I would make it just for fun, I am sure that your little boy will have a lot of fun with the gingerbread house for this Halloween.

That is really cute. I have never even made a gingerbread house before. I probaly would not be very good at them. My house would most likely fall down. I hope you made the house and hoped it turned out looked like it could be alot of fun and hope it looked great.

So did you make it? How did it turn out? Did you take pictures? I'd love to see them if you did! Nocturnica

I have made many, many haunted gingerbread houses. Mine are a little more elaborate than this one, but I make them for my Halloween parties. And are not just a one day job. I actually build a complete scene, the house, graveyard, swamp... Building gingerbread houses is not normally a simple throw it together job, unless you buy the kit. And if you have never made a gingerbread house of any sort, trust me, it is not something you do in a couple hours. Good luck if you choose to give it a try, it looks adorable

Here is one that I found too late for this year, but really cute! http://www.haunteddeminsions.raykiem.com/index506.html you can download the template to make it and all. I personally like it alot, much better than the one I am still working on for this year. Her ideas are made from sugar cookie dough, which should save many hours work, he he! Scroll down the page, take a look at the cookie makers gallery, some turned out real nice. October, 09, 2006 - turned out real nice December 14, 2007 - Look at the cookies, OMG, they are skeleton cookies, I love those ghost! July 23, 2008 - WOW, great job on this one! I really like the candy corn roof trimings. She did a great job on the grass on hers too. July 18, 2008 - Love the graveyard, and the tree is awesome!
