I'm pregnant with twins ...

i am 4 months pregnant with twins now. It is a very exciting time for my husband and I, but scary too. i went to the doctor yesterday for my regular checkup. He is a specialist who specializes in delivering twins, triplets, etc. He told me that the type of twins i'm having is very high risk because they are sharing a sac. When that happens, there is more chance of complications happening such as the cord getting wrapped around the babies necks. He let us know that with these type of twins, he will deliver them at 32-34 weeks (instead of the usual 40 weeks). Has anyone else delivered twins early? are they healthy now? did they have to spend time in the hospital after you went home from the hospital? are their any foods that i should concentrate on eating that will ensure they are a good weight when they come out?

:D Congratulations to you and your family. First of all, you should relax and be happy. Don't you lucky! And you should obey what the doctor told you to do. Here is some information that is good for you, I hope it may help. You should eat more high-quality protein(like eggs, lean poultry and beef) carbohydrates(like fruit, vegetables and whole grain cereal), and healthy fats(like nuts or olive oil). While awake, try to eat small meals or snacks every three hours. Drink plenty of water, limit soda, juice drinks or other sweetened beverage. Also, you should take some low-impact exercise, such as walking. Well, that's it. Congratulations to you and your family again! Best wishes to you!

I was so excited when I read the title of your discussion. First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS, I meant double Congratulations..to you and your hubby. You guys must be very happy with the news. I guess at the same time worry over all this. Please, please, you need to relax and do not get yourself into such stress or trauma. Get hold of books and spent time relaxing reading it. Internet is a good source to get information, but not all can bring the calming effect. Oh Ya by the way, why was I so excited for you. Recently , my niece-in-law gave birth to a twin girls. And that make me a Grand Aunt...hahhahha.after waiting so long to be one. Both girls were borned via C-section. Dont worry if the babies can be back home together with you. If they have to be at the hospital and you can be discharge, be it. Take the time at home to recuperate cause once both babies at home, you will be very busy entertaining them. They will be in good hand at the hospital. For now, you have to relax and not worrying about the pregnancy. Take good healthy food and do a lot of walking if your Gyne permit. Importantly, have faith in GOD, talk to him, he listen and know what best for you. Take care and update us on your progress.

I know you probably saw my posts about my babies. Not all pregnancies go wrong like mine did. I was pregnant with twins and had them at 24 weeks. I got pregnant to soon after having my daughter so my risk of having them early was way way high. I have met several people who have had children even as early as mine and they are perfectly healthy now. The risks are there don't fool yourself into thinking it can't happen to you. But you will definitly be in my prayers. This is very scary for you and I pray that all goes perfect. I really hope you don't have to go through any hardships. just remember those babies need you to take care of yourself and stay strong. I've got two angels in heaven and I am sending them to you to help make sure you get through this their names are Caedence Lynn and Clara Jane..

Congratulations on the news that you are going to have twins. I haven't had any twins but I know people that have had some. My friend was on holiday with her husband and 2 year old daughter and then she went into early labor. Her baby girls had to go incubators in different hospitals. They are quite well now and I see them every week. Twins usually are born early and they can have excellent care in special care baby units. Good luck with your pregnancy and I hope all will go well for you.

I haven't had twins but I wanted to say good luck and take good care of yourself. I heard on the tv the other day that your amniotic fluid renews itself every 30 mintues so drink alot of water. I never knew this before. Eat as much as you can and make sure you take your vitamins everyday to help them grow. Congratulations and I hope everything turns out well. Keep us posted even when you get put on bedrest.

I have never had twins but twins usually are deliverd early. We had a women here in town who gave birth to quads! They were about 4 months early and all 4 of them lived even thought hey only weighed about 3 pounds at birth. Doctors can do wonderful things with technology now. Your doctor will monitor you carefully to keep you and your babies safe.

Congratulations!! It must be amazing knowing you are having twins. I have a daughter who is now 2, but I know somebody who had twins. Any pregnancy has risks, but there is more with twins. Don't be scared all you need to do is look after yourself and just eat healthily, it is totally normal for twins to be born early usually by c section because of the possible complications. There are hundreds or thousands of twins born every day and the doctors have so much more experience and equipment to deal with any potential problems. Relax, enjoy your pregnancy and with regular check ups your doctor can ensure that your babies will not be put in any necessary danger.Don't put yourself under any extra pressure by worrying, keep active for as long as possible and let people help you. Anything you feel is not right go straight to your doctor as you are the only one that knows your boy - go with instinct if you think something is not right - never be worried about how many times you call your doctor. My friend had a normal pregnancy and her babies were delivered by c section at 32 weeks - they were home after a few weeks and are very healthy! Good luck!!

Twins - A photo of my twin grandchildren. They are growing smarter and handsomer day by day!
You are pregnant with twins. How nice! You are so blessed! Twins are wonderful. Congratulations. Just pray that God helps you get over the problem of having them in one sac. I'm sure everything will be fine. You doctor can very well help you. Technology is so updated now and I'm sure your baby will get out fine and healthy. Just feed yourself with health foods. Avoid fats and too much sweets. Concentrate on eating veggies and fruits. Eat more citrus! Don't take soft drinks, don't smoke or get in contact with people who do. Take daily walk and keep a happy disposition so your babies will come out happy babies too. I have twin grandchildren. Oh they are so cute. When they were born they were so healthy and beautiful. We were all rejoicing when we see them after they came out of their mother's womb. Of course they were delivered by cesarian as they were quite big. They turned 3 years old last October 16 and they are so healthy and smart. They talk like grown ups and could memorize songs. Ha!ha!ha! I attached their photo here. Look how cute Andrew and Andrei are!

Enjoy! I had twins 29 years ago. Since I worked around doctors I was aware of the problems and knew what to expect. Other than having to take it easy in the last couple of months I had no problem. They were delivered by section since my first child was delivered that way. My twins were born at 36 weeks and in the nicu for about a week since they only weighed 4lb 5oz each but they were both normal and healthy. Just eat a good healthy diet and relax. The longer you can go the better and the more weight they will have. Take it easy in the last couple of months.Good luck.

I have no twin babies nor kids in fact but I have nieces, nephews and lots of brothers and sisters. We are 12 in the family including my parents. We are a lot but we all were delivered normally. sadly, no one in our family are twins. I think that all the twins will need is both the parents care and love and support and surely they will grow healthy and happy kids.Good luck with the twins.I know you'll be a great mom!
