i went out in the hall about bedtime & noticed something? running down the wall in the hall right across from my bedroom. i live alone & to be honest it scared the poo out of me. it was late & i didn't want to call either of my sons to go up in the attic at that time of night. i have pull down steps but i can't climb them. well , i cleaned it off the walls & still couldn't decide what it was. i didn't know if it was blood or what. i went on to bed, locked my bedroom door & didn't figure i'd sleep a wink.the next morning i called one of my sons. he came over with his pistol & a club & wasn't too excited about going up there . i was scared for him to go. he pulled the steps down & nothing jumped out at him so he went on up. you aren't going to believe what it was. my christmas decorations are up there & a candle in a arrangement had melted from the heat & that's what was running down thw wall. my daughter-in-law said there was no way she could have gone to bed not knowing what it was. ever had an experience like that???

I just read your story to my 10 year old daughter and 14 year old son. They both thought it was pretty creepy. You know, if it had been a green candle, you probably wouldn't have even been frightened but RED!? This close to Halloween too?! I'm not sure I could have slept either. Take care, jo!

No, but I have had many weird and unexplainable things happen to me.. It was very scary to even think of it.. I am glad that it was only a Christmas decoration, and nothing else..

Wowzer. Scary, but kinda funny picturing someone in that situation cleaning the walls, then realizing that the "blood" smelled like cinnamon apples or something.. Haha.

No, but you are a braver woman then I am. I would have been next door calling the police or in the car on the cell phone. No way I would have stayed there all night even with a locked door.

I don't think I could have slept without checking it out...I would have been calling someone, middle of the night or not. I'm glad it turned out to be nothing major. ~~IN SEARCH OF PEACE WITHIN~~ **AGAINST THE STORMS, I WILL STAND STRONG**

I have never had anything like that happen and there is no way that I could have gone to sleep not knowing what that was. If I had thought that it was blood, I would have called the police before I would have gone to sleep. I can imagine how scared your son was and I don't know that I would have gone into that attic. It is a funny story now that it is over and one that he can share with others.

I have jumped out my skin many times mistaking the shadows of the blind for a sneaking man or monster. Well your anecdote is worth including in any first rate horror movie in an opening seen.

That was very scary. If I saw something red running down the wall I believe I would be leave the house and spending the night some place else and possibley calling the police. Then when I found out it was candle wax feeling foolish for calling the police.

exactly, that's why i did't call the police. if i had gotten my sonns up that late there probably would have been blood running down the walls, mine. lol the worst scnario i could think of was that some kind of aninal had gotten in the attic. had a snake inthe attic at a rental house i lived in, that's another story, i did leave & go to a motel. i was out of town then. i have wierd things happen. hope that's the end of the varmits in the attic.lol have a good one & greetings from tennessee.

Hello, AntiqueLady! Hmm... It seems like you have been tricked by your mind. I mean, it must have been a really scary experience, but when you get scared you start imagining the worst kind of things. Your mind starts telling you that it might be something really really bad, when in fact it may not be. As it happened to you: it wasn't something bad, right? When we fear, we should not panic. We should not allow fear to overtake us. We must be stronger than it. We must control ourselves and try to find out what is really going on. I am glad you called your sons to aid you. I would be really scared if I was alone like you were, and I wouldn't know who to call. I guess I would try to find out what was it by myself. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

lol You could sleep with that coming down from the wall? Impressive! You are really brave, because I wouldn't sleep while I didn't find out what was that.

Ha!ha!ha! I was not breathing while reading your post! Ha!ha!ha! I thought the story was a bloody one! Oh, I'm happy it was just your Christmas decor that bled! Ha!ha!ha! It's hard to stay calm in such a situation especially if you were alone. I hope you have someone with you always although I know you can manage.

Jo...I would have wet my pants. I have never had anything like that happen to me. I watch horror movies sometimes and I would have thought I was in one. Amityville horror or something. I don't know what I would have done. You are more a woman than me to have stayed there all night without knowing.lol Especially by yourself.

Gosh, that was a bit scarry dear......if it was me, i could have dashed to the neighbors house to spend the night there or atleast stand still/freeze moving coz if i moved the monster might come after me. My father almost killed his precious calf thinking it was a wild animal that has entered his bedroom. They were asleep in the middle of the night when a calf that had wandered into the house that evening found its way to the bedroom and started licking him in the face! He jumped up with loud noise and grabbed something and hit the poor calf down........remember there is no power in the countryside..............he laughed at himself in the morning after they had moved to the leaving room to spend the night there.............We had a big laugh that day..... that calf is now an old cow but the memories are still new.

I am like your daughter-in -law, there is no way I could have went to sleep with something RED running down my wall. Somebody somewhere would've had to come and go in my attic that night and see what was wrong, and it being Halloween too. Something horrifying would have been going on in my mind. I am happy to hear that it was just something minor.

Things like this always happen to me. Like when i am walking home and it is late and dark. And you hear a rustling in the bushes, and your imagination goes crazy with all the possibilities, even though at the back of your mind you know it's just a bird or something :)

I do not know how you waited until the next day. I would of been out of there. I just had a leak once that ruined my walls, but red stuff at night, near Halloween too. Well I am glad it was not blood, but candle wax can be tricky to clean off. Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight.

I personally could not have gone to bed with red going done my wall. I would have called someone to check it out or go to a nice motel for the night. The only thing that ever happened like that to me was when I was a little girl. We moved to a new house in texas. And, my sister and I slept in one room, while my mother in another. My dad was still at the old house finishing-up the sale. My mom said she had a bad dream and felt something was really wrong. Next, thing I knew my mom was in our room pulling us out of the bed. With the lights on we saw that above the bed climbing down the wall was a big tarantula spider. My uncle came over and killed it. He said that it was a grand-daddy with an inch high of white hair sticking-up on its back. It would have killed my sister and I by morning. Thanks mom!!!
