I'm taking work off today to do my grand daughters Halloween costume. She wants to be Smokey Bear. So, I got a sweater and an old fur cape. I took the cape apart and am stitching it to the sweater so she's furry. I went to the church rummage sale, found a hat and belt, made the " Smokey " labels. Have the shovel in the basement and the jeans are ready to go. My daughter is painting the little ones face. WA-LA! Smokey Bear....

We have tried in the past to decorate the outside of the house only for the weather to defeat us. Plus there is only one other child in our neighborhood and it's not worth all the effort IMO. I'd like to decorate the inside more however my kids can't leave anything alone and are constantly into something & destroying things in the process. So I'm waiting til they are older. We have the costumes already & they've worn them 2x once to the IL's and once @ school but the big day isn't until tomorrow,,, it should be lovely & in the 60's!

Sorry my dear, I don't want to offend you but we never celebrate Halloween. I would not want my kids to look like zombies and witch. They are too angelic and would not want them to imagine they become ugly creatures. I don't buy the idea of celebrating Halloween that way. As I've researched Halloween originated from Africa and it was a devilish celebration so I don't want my children to get ever involved in a celebration with evil origin. I also would not want my home to look like hunted house or scary place. I want my home to remain pleasant to my eyes, fresh, well ventilated and well lighted. I don't want my family to see ugly things around. We live in a wonderful home in fact it is a a piece of heaven on earth so making the place look like a home of devils sounds stupid to me. This is my personal opinion. I hope you you take it as such. Cheers!
