Why would one wanna change their name when they are married?? I find it's a little ridiculous.. BEcause our names are given by our parents and that we should respect our names.. And just because of getting married, and one needs to change their name, i dun find that reason valid.. After all, it should be personal preference and by not forcing them to change if they are not happy to do so ^_^

I have had a discussion about this sort of thing with a male friend of mine who more or less stated he wouldn't marry a woman who didn't change her name to his..but me being a woman said well you have two daughters wouldn't you like your name carried on... Now my idea on things is that i think a woman should keep her name and tack the mans name on at the end and then if there is a divorce then the mans name is just dropped this would save a lot of legal trouble and money. Also this I feel would stop people who marry famous people living off the name of their divorced husbands name, for example I feel Pricilla Presley should have not used his name once she was divorced from him... I think women seem to have to give up a lot for marriage and yet they give so much...
