i know that my computer isn't the best in the world but the rest of the computers are having the same problem, our internet goes in and out and sometimes is really slow and we can hardly do things on the internet and we thought that it was the internet but no one else in the neighborhood is having problems, and i wondered if it was the router or something its a linksys(don't know if thats spelled right)or what is going on because we have three computers and they are all having this problem, but the one thats hooked up to the modem isn't having as many problems(still having them but not as many)so what do you think the problem is? i would like to take this time to thank everyone for taking the time out of your day to come by and read and review my discussion and hopefully answering, and trying to help me, and i hope that you all have a great day and night tonight, thanks again for taking the time to stop by.

I think the problem is with your internet connection. Make sure all the cables are hooked up and secure. Plus refresh the signal if needed. It should now work.

The key statement you make is all three computers have slowed at the same time. Get your phone supplier to check the line from the street to your house. I have had several instances where re-making a bad joint in the road has doubled the broadband speed. This assumes that you have not loaded new software recently like another virus checking software for instance.

hi there. i would suggest that you call you internet service provider to check if there are problems with your internet connections. if everything is ok and still you are having problems with you PC. then check if it might be infected with a virus. virus can slow down the process of you PC. if you detect a virus, do some cleaning. if its not successful, i think you have to do reformatting you PC. just make sure to make back-ups of your files. hope this will help.

actually i too don't know what exactly the problem is but i think it was due to the sharing of the internet among 3 systems this is the cause which struggled me too. i and my brother use to connect to net at the same time using a LAN to the modem which will slow down the internet try to check the net speed with only one system connected then you will know what to do thank you.

you only mentioned router. you need a switch for it to transmit data equally to all computers. for example, you're internet speed is 2Mbps, then the switch will distribute the 2mbps equally to all computers. router only moves traffic to different networks that is connected to. though router have its built-in switch, it cannot fully distribute equal bandwidth to all computers. here's the how it should work. internet -- modem -- router -- switch -- comp(s)

if ure using a wireless modem, or u can say a router then yes it could happen. becoz the linksys router looking for a good signals, n the one thats hooked up to the modem got the best signals because its the closest one to the modem. try to put the other pc/laptop closer n test the signals, if its good then the problem is the distance between the pc to the modem. if u still lost the connection, then the problem might be ur internet provider. u better ask n confirm it to the internet provider to make sure bout it. hope it helps a bit, Shalli

So you mean, you're having a problem in your internet connection? What is the bandwidth or speed in your internet connection? When you use the three computers at the same time does your browser have an error message. Can you give me your problems in details maybe I could find a way and so I could tell what test you can do to solve your problem.
