What makes you add someone as a friend?

For me to send a friend request it all comes down to compatability on some level or another. It may be because of their writing style; or their sense of humour. It may be because they have disagreed with me and I enjoyed the way in which they stated their case..... Sometimes it's because they have made a continuous effort to interact with me. It can be any one of a number of reasons really but as I said previously, it does come down to compatability at some level or another and I am certainly not someone who sends friend requests just for the sake of sending them.

Hi hiddenwing! Well for me it is a few things. I usually notice people in discussions. After I seen them a few times that will usually mean that we have some interests and friends in common. I will have already seen how they respond and as you said also have noticed their writing syles so I will have gotten a feel for the type of person that they are. If that is the case then I will ask them for a friend request. What I don't understand is how people ask me for a friend request when they haven't even been in a discussion yet.

I rarely request friends now unless their discussions really interest me. When I have a friend request I look at their activity and see if they have any common nterests or if they have posted anything I feel strongly about or if they are fun and appeal to my warped sense of humour.

I have to admit that I hardly ever decline anyone if they request my friendship because it makes me feel honoured that they have chosen me! However I hate being picked at random when I see the person who has asked me to be a friend hasn't bothered with their profile or hasn't made any posting, you think they are going to spam you! I am a very friendly person and enjoy making friends with people all over the world, as you said you can learn so much on this site from other people!

I used to do alot of friend requests when I first joined Mylot so I would have alot of friends and topics to respond to. I accept all friends for that reason also. I like to comment on their posts.

I can't say exactly what would make me add someone as a friend, but I can say what would make me not want to add him or her. That is a bad attitude. I do not want to be associated with someone who is going to drag me down. I don't mean someone who occasionally has a bad day. We all have those. I'm referring to someone who is never satisfied with anything.

I don't usually add because i get heart when rejected though its not yet happen to me.I just wait until one would want to add me to their lists.I never rejected anybody i always accept who wanted to be my friend.

I just add whoever send a request lol I never refuse them. See no reason why to. I do send request ocassionaly...if I like how someons is thinking or answering or if they have good discussions started. Someone I find on equal mind levels I guess.
