When life comes at you full speed there's Master Card.

Now that you may think this is a commercial for Master Card it is not. It is a discussion regarding what life brings you when you are not expecting it. I got involved in a business adventure and I borrowed 9K to do this. It is not a selling business and I may not see any profits from it for a year. I may have to put up to 5K more in the business. The long turn profits may outlast me and be passed on to my children if this thing goes. I cannot discuss it yet until it is off the ground. Once it is off the ground I will be shouting it from the roof tops what it is. Now that I did that, last Friday my husband's 2000 GMC Sierra pick-up took him to work and left him there. If it was not for the kindness of a co-worker I would have been calling someone to come and pick him in a town 45 miles from home. Saturday my husband, a friend and I went back to his pick-up to see if he could get his truck running. Alas no it was deader than a doornail. We had to have it towed back to our town. Do you guys want to know what it cost us to have it towed home to out local dealer ship to have it fixed? Oh come on give a guess, yes it was a lot in my standards. It cost us $200 dollars on the credit card. Oh well we can afford it right? NOT but we can make payments on that. Maybe it is something simple to fix the truck. I get a call at noon today on my cell phone. Now I do not know why my husband told them to call me I do not drive, I do not take care of the cars. The dealership called started to tell me what all was wrong with the truck. I did not even listen to him all the way I cut the guy off and told him I would have my husband call him. I called my hubby and let him deal with it. I then went to what I had to do today. We are having the celebration of Granny's life on November 11 @ 2pm. My sisters and their families will be here. There will be 7 other people here so you know how busy I will be this week. My older sister will be here early AM on the 8th. I have my helper coming Thursday and Friday the 6th and 7th to help me totally clean my house from top to bottom. I get a phone call from my twin and she is coming the night of the 6th. OH CRAP! why so early. I will not tell her no. I just was not expecting company that early. Oh well I will have to be prepared a day early. Now my plan is to get the guest bedroom ready this evening and the formal living room done tonight. I sat down for a minute to rest and the phone rang. OH good who is calling me. MOM. I had to deal with her crap that is another long story I will tell you later when I have time and energy. Then the phone rang again and it is the dealership regarding my hubby's truck it is ready. I asked how much it cost to fix it. It needed a new fuel pump, and a whole list of things. $1010.00 and that is after the 10% discount. I took a deep breath in and chocked. The guy on the phone asked me "I am so sorry for shocking you, do I need to call 911?" I am OK I just am shocked all to heck. My husband did not call me and let me know what it will cost to fix his truck. Now that is not the end of my story. I was getting something out from under the kitchen sink and you guessed it there is water sitting under the sick. I have a leak somewhere. I have not used the sink much today so I do not know where it is coming from. It is not from where the water is coming in so it must be from where the water is draining out either from the dishwasher or sink. I cleaned out the cabinet and dried everything. I also have a sink of dirty dishes because I did not do dishes last night. I needed to to sit down and tell someone what a crappy day I am having. What do you guys do when life comes at you fast? How do you cope with all of this. I am on the verge of tears because of the death of my dearest Granny. I know it has been almost two months ago but I do miss her and loved her so much. I now have all of this on top of me and feel like sitting in a corner and crying but I do not have time. I hope your day is better than mine.

Oh my goodness, you are having quite a time, aren't you? Pray and don't allow yourself to become overwhelmed. Things have a way of working themselves out for the best. We usually worry way more than we need to. Besides, remember that the people that are coming early are family. Don't be shy about allowing them to help you get things ready. This celebration is for everyone and you should not be stuck with the entire burden, just because it's being held at your home. And make sure Petie puts his toys away neatly, LOL.

Thanks for your kind words. I just got so shocked at the price of the truck repair. It turns out hubby can pay for it from the ranch account. He has an account which he pays for the upkeep of the land. He has been taking care of the families estate and land for 4 years without payment from the other 7 children. We pay for the insurance, and electricity and every time something brakes and we have to call a repairman out it comes out of our budget. So I feel they own at least that to him. That makes me feel better. I found the leak and it is the hose from the hot water to the dishwasher. It is a slow leak and I can get the plumber out today or tomorrow. I turned off the hot water and it is dry under there this AM. I think the biggest problem will be pulling out the dishwasher to change the hose oh well I will deal. I slept so well last night. I had been up from 3am to 11 last night. I went right to sleep and slept till 4am this morning. I will be napping today I am sure between the TV cable guy coming and the plumber and voting and all the other things I have to do.

I am so glad that things are working themselves out for you. I know how it feels to have a deadline and be stressed out. I hope that things continue to flow smoothly and that you get enough rest. You may be tired at the end of the day, but it is a tired with a sense of accomplishment, so it still feels good.

I've been up since 4am and got the formal living room done. It took so long because I moved almost all of my teapots. I have several home made doilies that Granny made that I put under the teapots. I also moved furniture my back will feel it tomorrow. I wanted to clean the bathrooms today. I did wash my shower curtain and hang out to dry I will rehang when I get the tub clean. I have to go with a friend to get my hubbies truck out of hock tomorrow afternoon and have a hair appointment in the am. I have another long busy day. God Bless you my friend.

You know what??? I think you are doing just fine! It sounds to me like your main focus is on the celebration of your grandmothers life (which is where it should be right now) not the truck. You need to take care of yourself in dealing with your loss and with your family. The truck should way be back burner. Put it on the credit card and deal with it later, you are do doing the right thing. I don't normally condone debt, but there are times we just have to do it to get where we need to go (no pun intended).

Oh shoot!!! I forgot to tell you how I deal with this kinda crap - the truck crap I mean... I would go to the Mexican Cafe and have at LEAST 2 margaritas, on the rocks, with salt.

Thanks for the advise. I will meet you at the nearest Mexican food restaurant between us when this is all over. heehee. I love them blended not on the rocks. I am looking forward to being with my sisters and their families. I think I am making to much of getting my house "perfect" I did do a great job on the formal living room today. It took me all day because I kept having to sit down and I dusted and moved every teapot. I also move every piece of furniture except the hide away sofa it was to heavy for me to move. Petie and the girls (kitties where a lot of help) I have a great tip when you have cleaning and want a fresh smelling home. Put a few drops of essential oils on a cotton ball and let it dry then put in your vacuum cleaner canister or bag. Today I used cinnamon I have two cotton balls drying for tomorrow with cinnamon and I might add some lemon grass on to it later to mix some things up. I need to empty the canister before starting again tomorrow.

Oh my... you are certainly having a very bad time... and i do not know what to say... but it won't always be that way... just look at it as a challenge to your character... when these challenges are all finished... you will emerge as a stronger and wiser person... Life is never always in the downside... something good is bound to happen... to even up things... so just hang in there... i know you can pull through this...

Thanks for your confidence in me. I do need it. I have gotten very little sleep the last few days with worry of all the things I have to do. I was up at 3am till 11pm and then up at 4am this morning. It is now 10pm and I just sat down to take a break. I am in the process of cleaning my bathroom. I want to get the bathrooms done before Thursday. My twin is coming and I at least want clean bathrooms. Today I totally rearranged the formal living room dusted every teapot and put home made doilies under them that Granny made. My sisters did not want the doilies. I moved the furniture around except the hide away couch I cold not move it by myself. I need to open it up and change the sheets on it but I will have help on Thursday so I think I will do it then. I am comfortable in the new room I rearranged today. I am taping Ocean's 13 for a friend as I type this. I have not seen the whole movie and I do not know if she has either.

Thanks, I have not told mom about this thing with Granny. I have not let her know that my sisters are coming to town. I know my twin does not want to see her and I respect that I do not want to see her. I have been busy moving things around for company. I have been moving my teapots around which I love to do. I love to visit them and rearrange them. I did sit down for a rest. I called the plumber and he is going to come out later this morning. I am waiting for the cable guy he should be here between 10-12 and after both guys get her and leave I will leave and vote. Starbucks coffee will give free coffee to people who have voted today. The place I vote at is the by Starbucks so I will have free coffee after I vote. I think that is really nice they are going to do that.

Holy Moly you DO have your hands full...I'm out of breath just reading this..LOL Well as the saying goes, when it rains it pours and it does seem like a snowball effect of one thing after another after another. Take some real time out...if you want to just sit on the living room floor and do nothing for at least fifteen minutes..DO THAT..and do some good ole deep breaths. Just take one step at a time and handle one thing at a time...you're only human. Can't you get your sister to help you out a bit when she comes? I don't know if it were me, and had a sister that suddenly decided to crop up early I'd get her to help you out with the cleaning..why not? SHE's the one who will be early...think of it as a revengeful punishment since she's coming days earlier than you expected...LOL

Oh no! Your husband took the house keys too? Must have been weird to gain access into your home via the garage, but at least you were able to. I don't have cable, so today I had to get one of those converter boxes so I can have the digital signals when we go through the change over in February...but forgot to get an extra power strip...so will do that tomorrow. Then I'll have to do some puttering around setting things up myself. I could stand to do some heavy duty cleaning myself....not that the place looks like a mess, but to clear out things I just don't need or want anymore. But right now I need to work on my photo portfolio for that grant I applied for, so that takes first priority right now. Sometimes my own work tends to pile up on me...think I need 60 hours in a day at times just to get everything done

cher I hope your teeth do not cost to much and you can pay them off soon before something else comes up. My friend had to charge her false teeth. It took her a while to pay them off. Thanks for your kind words.

Just keep calm and relax take some deep breath and then think. Sometime it feels as you said. But we have to face the situation. Things have a way of working themselves out for the best, if we worry nothing can be sort out so let it work out by itself. Time have evry solution.
