Have you been to Rizal Shrine?

I am almost 30 and been living in Laguna for that long. Our house is about an hour away from Rizal's house in Calamba, Laguna. When I was still in College, my classmates asked me to accompany them to the Rizal Shrine. But I was not able to do so because I haven't been there even until now. I really don't know why I haven't visited it yet. I just saw it from afar but I never had a chance to go inside. My 15-year old niece teased me a lot because she has been there three times and I have zero. Anyway, I just want to know if you have been there. When was it? Did you go there with family or because of school field trip? How was your visit?

I have been there a long time ago. I was still six or seven years old I think at that time. I could not understand what it was at all and I am just there with my parents. On in the present time that I did realize what it was the place was for. As far as I could remember what I saw in there are old furniture and some old clothes and some pieces of Rizal's works displayed in there.

I'm glad you still remember some few things that you saw there! My niece told me that there is already a small nipa hut at the back. Thanks for your response!

Yes I think I have seen that nipa hut your niece has been referring to. I guess its time for you to make an effort to visit the place as its nice that you visit this places for better appreciation of your history especially you're very near the place. Maybe bring in with you a friend or somebody your comfortable with.

Gosh! I have to say that I have not been to the place, and yes, I wish I could visit the shrine. I wish we have done the visiting years ago.

Yes, I think we should have! Instead of laughing in the lobby or making fun of other people, we should have visited it a long time ago when we were still, you know, teenagers.. Hahaha!

I haven't been to the shrine, either. The ones I know who have been there were able to because it was a destination in their school field trip. I never got that chance. I have been to Laguna a few times, and I also did get to pass by the shrine while in a running vehicle, and that's as close as I got. Still, I hope to be able to go there within my lifetime. I want to get the feel of the place.

Yes, I've been to Manila (I'm Baguio based actually) but I've never been to Rizal Shrine. I have seen it in my history and Rizal books but I haven't visited it personally. Some said that it's not worth the visit because its already very crowdy and stealing is rampant. I guess someday when I have my own family, I could take them their to tell them the historical importance of it. ^^,
