Hi friends I want to know the requisition for starting a bookshop? Do you think there's high profit in this business? Thanks for responding.

First you have to love books and read a lot and know what is in them. Most people who own bookshops do not make a lot of money and do it mainly because of their love of books than for the money. It is a good business for retired people who have accumulated a lot of books that they no longer need in the home. The second requirement would be knowing something about accounting and inventory control. A single book may be small and relatively lightweight, but when you have thousands of them, it can be quite a chore keeping track of them, and of their changing value. Most bookstore owners have to deal with a changing inventory. You might buy books that are popular one year and the next year if they are unsold they could be obsolete and worthless, so you would have to think about what kinds of books you want to specialize in and how to move them.

I don't know that there is a very large chance of profit. I mean, they do seem less risky than restaurants, and your inventory is always worth money, but it can be a lot of work and it can take a while to build up a clientele.
