You need to assure him that you will not come running every time that he cries. I am not saying leave him alone for hours lol. But, get him in his crib and let him see you go say night night or whatever it is and give him 20 min. to cry it out. Most importantly with any baby, BE CONSISTANT. Nothing will ever work with one try.

The only thing you can do is let them cry it will take a few times and it will be hard to do... but if you dont they will keep at it cause they know if they cry you will come and get them. Just let them get tired of doing it.

You really have to stay consistant with children. Start by sitting next to your child while in a playpen if you have one. Then little by little move away a few inches at a time. Eventually he/she will see that no matter what you are still there. Then like your first response said try going out of the room for like 1 min to start and little at a time increase the time. I know it sounds like hard work but in the end it will be worth it because then your child will be ok when you go into another room to do laundry or put things away.

Let him cry! it sounds mean but he gonna learn that your not always going to be right next to and holding him all the time! Start by being in the room! set him down ( or in a play pin) with toys and let him have at em! if he starts crying let him cry! he will eventually stop! Then when it's to the point where you can be in the same room and he leaves you alone.. start by going into another room for a lil bit.. don't leave him completely alone but for like 5 mins! just walk in and out of the room.. so that he know that you are there when your not seen!
