I just got an reply of the text message, it says: Fwd: FWD: Don't send if you don't mean it. I asked them what they wanted... They sent the same message back to me. The text said Im whitney bryan. I still don't understand what they want with me. I don't know whom this person is.. I have sent them a voice message just now.. I am leaving my phone on to see if they will text me back.. I don't know whom this person is calling me.. I only am getting an text message! I have *67 my phone number and I called their number from my home phone, I will see what they want.. I ask them to tell me the person that they are looking for. I told them that they may have the wrong number.. What do you think is going on here? This is the first time something like this has ever happened before... It is kind of scaring me..

hmm.. I have had text messages that I don't know who it is from, I also get calls from various numbers as well. And usually it's from unknown people.. I guess the worst one I always receive is this weird chinese woman asking for this guy call Andy.. The funny thing is, I have had my cell number for at least 8 years.. So it's quite scary as well that a woman always calls for Andy. And I get the call every other month and it's been going on for years!! EARGH Well, if I were you, I'll just not call the person back. It is probably a wrong number that's all.. Don't get scared about it, there's always people who dail the wrong number.. :)

Yes, and I hope that it is all a wrong number and nothing else.. I have the same problem too, someone calls for this woman named Sandra Holliday. This has been going on for 7 to 8 months now.. I am really thinking about changing my cell phone number because of this..

I would just ignore it too cream97. Don't worry about it. It is either someone playing around texting random numbers or somebody texting a message to somebody but they just have the wrong number. Hopefully they will stop texting you. My son gets a voice mail that repeats & repeats several times a month. It is always from the same number and always the same automated message that is very difficult to understand. We just delete it everytime he gets it. Good luck & try not to worry about it. It isn't worth the stress. If, however, you continue to get this text over & over again then maybe you can try to have their number blocked from your phone. I'm not sure if it can be done but you might want to contact your service provider if it continues. It is a thought. Take care.

They have the wrong number. Just forget about it. Don't waste more money by texting back, calling them or *67 them (that costs quite a bit). Could be some kids thinking that it is fun to send change messages and to see whether they may get a response. They might indeed be trying to mess with your head. When we were little we rang doorbells in our neighborhood and then ran and hid to see how the people opening the door would react. It's the same kind of stuff.

I received an interesting call from an unknown user in Italy. I was really curious to know whom the person was that i sent them a text message. The person did not bother to reply back. Therefore I called to be answered by an answering machine, it seems it was some kind of telemarketing.© ronaldinu 2008

Yes, I have called this number back about 4 times.. I got an voice mail. No one never answered the phone.. All I keep getting was text messages.. If they have done this, then my guess would be that they are hiding something... Why not allow me to hear their voice, instead of all of the text messaging??

if you don't know them,i wouldn't respond to them.even block them if you can. could be anything from a collector of some kind to a wrong number/clueless person.

It was an caller from an local cell phone number..That was the strangest thing about it.. It is someone that lives in my city and state. I wonder what they want.. If I call this number, I will get through, because it is an local number in the area. I will not answer anymore text messages that they deliver, that is for sure..

Well, what did they want? You can actually report that to your carrier and don't delete the messages so that you can have proof that they're harassing you. I had the same type of problem a few months back. I just got my line (mobile) from another carrier and it seems that the previous owner of the line had problems and has gotten a lot of people looking for him. It was just weird because people would call me up and even insist that I was hiding the guy! It was pretty absurd since they were looking for someone who's miles and miles away from me (we're in different cities and I've never been in the city they were referring to). Anyhow, I issued a complaint against all those people who were calling me, listed their numbers down and sent them to my carrier. I think they called them up one-by-one. Either that or they blocked them. Now, I don't get those creepy calls anymore. I asked my carrier why that happened, they told me it was quite weird because they have this policy that a number (or line) which was disconnected were given a period of time (around 10months to a year) where it's stored and unused so that all past records of the user are deleted (meaning people would stop calling because they won't be able to get connected). I guess 10 months to a year isn't enough though. So, try that, and maybe the person would stop bothering you.

I had the phone for a week before the calls came. They told me the guy had it for just a few months then cut-off the lines because he wasn't able to pay his bills. You should report it. Or simply ignore. I was even driven to the point of changing my number for that, most especially when someone insulted me and told me that I was hiding the person! So weird, my carrier then took care of things, and told me that if ever something like that involving the old owner would ever happen again, they'd change my number free of charge.

Yes, this is odd.. By then if it has been past 10 months to a year.. The calls should have stopped by then. How long did you have this phone number? Did the phone carrier tell you how long the person that they was calling for, how long did he had this number??? The person whom called me did not say what they wanted.. They just texted me back the same message to my cell phone that they texted the first time.. It was very strange when I got the same message.. But, they gave an name, it was Whitney.. I don't know whom this person is.. All I know is that I will not answer anymore calls like seem suspicious..

Well, some people would just want to play with you. I don't think that is a serious thing. It is just a scam or just from the people who have nothing to do but bother others as their hobby. Don't mind that text messages. If you will ignore that, they will stop bugging you. Hope you do..

Hi cream, It may be some kids playing a prank. If you don't know who ehitney bryan is, they may have called you by mistake. If this keeps happening, you may want to change your number. Especially since you are getting the creditors calls. I know changing your number sounds drastic and a pain but it really isn't that big of a deal. I changed mine and then just emailed my new number to all my friends and family. Then since I pay my bills online, I went and changed my number with each doctor etc. You should also call your phone carrier to see if there is anything you can do. leenie

Hi sweetie, I think it is a good idea. Unlike what others have said,it's better safe than sorry. If it makes you afraid or even just a little concerned then do what makes you feel safe. Listening to your inner alerts is the best thing to do. Good luck and keep us posted. leenie

In those cases, I remember my parents telling me, "Dont talk to strangers." If that person is vague in what he/she wants, I ignore him altogether. WHy bother? Why waste your time?

i had that happen as well i called my mobile company and told them of the problem because it got excessive and was some guy... my father was more than pissed i started telling him to answer my phone eventually lol... anyways, i called the company and requested that they block such and such number from calling... they checked what cell model i had and instructed me what to do (blocked numbers list) and see if that works it didn't since what happened is as u said it rings silently... my voice mail got backed up as well with just "hello... helloooo" and silence... (jerk) the company put their number on my account as to block them from contacting me... I had the problem months later again with a different number as a last resort i did change my number because the calls started coming at deathly hours of the night =P jerk X2!

That was a true jerk! I try to screen my calls too. But, it will ring a silent ring, and I am still able to receive calls from them. I just want to have the freedom of blocking out all numbers that I wished to not receive calls from. That would make me so happy..

Yes, being lenient always allows a person to be victimized.. I am just sorry to tell them that I am not the one to play cat and mouse games with them. My guard is always up when it comes to things as this.

Last Monday, my younger sister just told me that somebody is calling in her cellphone and according to her the number isn't the same as the usual cellphone number or even a phone number.. When every time she answered the call, no one will speak to her it just hang up.. I told her not to mind it and when they call again just don't answer the call.. Maybe those people can't do anything in their life that's why they were fooling other people and scared them.. The best thing to do is not to answer their calls and even their text message because when you don't reply back to them they will just get tired and then stop already doing it to you and maybe they will choose another victim..

I do received calls like this sometimes but not as many times as you. Just ignore them and if it's anything urgent, am sure the caller who ever that is will now how to look you up. Set that number in your hand phone and when it rings - dont answer. Sooner or later they will get fed-up. Dont waste your credit by calling or texting them back. Reserve them for better use... Cheers and have a nice day
