Gigantic Salmon Found in California River

I hate to burst anyone's bubble but I think that this picture is a fake. One is that the picture chows a fish that looks more like it is close to 5 foot long (who would not exaggerate the length of the fish that they catch?) plus the guy does not seem to be struggling holding the fish with only one hand (where is the other hand?). For a fish to have swam up that far the fins look n too good a shape.

yes, this is a huge salmon. It's not a big as the catfish found in Japans waters. They believe that people that are missing were eaten by the huge catfish in their waters. But the government there doesn't want this to get out. Someone snapped some pictures on their cell phone and they got out. If there is one that huge, it can't be the only one. They must be more.

Wow what a fish! These are the kings of the river and I kind of feel sad when they are caught and eaten or just die. You don’t get them by the dozen everyday BTW, why do these fishes spawn and then die? Salmon is a delicacy and so is the fish caught live before it spawns! If so, then that must be drastically reducing the salmon population!

oh My god! its really big. in my country few months back they caught a giant fish. it is very huge in size and weight too

I loved salmon.. lol =D If ever i can have such a big salmon, i will have endless sashimi and salmon steaks for my meals everyday.. lol =D Imagine 4 feet long, and weighing 85pounds, the amount of meat it has, and the freshness of the salmon, just makes me craving for more, and even right now, i'm very tempted to buy some salmon to eat right now.. lol

I'm really not surprised. California, however much we make fun of them for being environmental extremists, has protected its wildlife well and tried to make conditions the best possible for them. And salmon are normally HUGE anyway!

Wow!!! That is some huge salmon!! I love salmon and when we were in Seattle, we had a huge salmon shipped home to us. It was yummy!! I would like to have that one, it would feed us for a while. LOL

that is absolutely crazy. but up here in nc they think there is like a 1000lb catfish in one of our lakes. there's no telling whats at the bottom of all those things! But I would love have one of those salmon steaks. uh oh looks like i know what i am having for dinner

That really is a monstrous fish. That would feed alot of people. It must have been a very old and grand fish to become so large.
