If you noticed during obama's victory speech it is not just the african american who dominated the support but everyone! Whites, asians, blacks and any color race you could imagine. And one thing that I noticed is that many are the young and willing to change. SO I think it is the moment we are waiting for when everyone, regarding of color or race will slowly become a "normal" factor and everyone will be treated as equal.

I read an analysis today that showed the largest group of voters who voted for Obama were young people. It's this group...those 35 and younger...who are least likely to hold prejudiced views. They have had more exposure throughout their lifetime to diversity and are more comfortable with people of other races and nationalities than the generations that came before them. It was great to see the multitudes of people celebrating last night...a true look at what America is made up of...Americans.

He had the support of many groups, among them the young, the African American community, the Latino vote and the college educated white community. I've heard repeatedly today that Obama carried more of the white vote than any Democrat candidate in recent memory. It's not the end of racism in the United States, but it IS a watershed moment. In electing a man with brown skin (since so many object to the use of the word black to describe him), we have taken a step across a line and can never step back over it.

Maybe now we can finaly dispense with that stupid myth that the U.S. is a rampantly racist country.

that would be nice. Dont hold your breath. The media is already talking about how a bigger percentage of minorities voted for Obama than whites. They make it sound like the whites that did not vote for him are racist. Heaven forbid we just not agree with his politics.

I surely hope that we will now move on and treat a person based upon his talents, skills, and character rather than the color of their skin. I am willing to see change come to Washington, but Wasahington is big and lumbersome and will take some time for those changes to take effect.

i agree with you,the human is equal.whatever the skin color he is covered of ,we should treat him or her equally,it is no division height.so the black man is man and white man is man ,why they are with each other?obama 's victory maybe can solve the problem much better.
