Mathematics was originated in INDIA.and that form of maths is still implemented for faster calculations.this is called "vaidic mathemetics". the number system including 0 was invented in INDIA at very early age. scientist may be someone between ARYABHATTA or RAMANJUM

Well, the meaning of zero and ulimited value was invented by ancient greeks i am afraid and not indians.

Some people would say Babylonians did. They used what you could now call an implied zero as a place holder.
