Well, I guess the simplest things do bring the greatest joy. It could be your cat don't like the toys because it does not have any smells it can associate with? It is not fun to play with? Sometimes, the best is the cheapest. You should try leaving a few boxes around to see if your cat is interested.

yeah because i have cat toys everywhere and i think they have played with them once at most.. drives me crazy!! where as my dog will play with toys so i hate to buy the dog toys and not the cats

Cats are fussier in nature. SO trying to appease them would be tougher. So, stick with the simpler stuff. I think the cats would appreciate it more. Heh heh... so you got both cats and dogs living under the same roof eh? They don't irritate each other?

my pets get along great.. if there is any fighting its between the two cats and not the dog and cats.. some times the dog annoys the cats but its more of a playful annoy and nothing big.. most of the time they just leave each other alone

You spoil your animals. My family has bought toys for there animals and only rex plays with his, but thats after he has ripped the stuffing out of it. The cats sniff there stuff and walk away, but if i leave my yarn around they have a hay day.
