Snubbing someone is an act of arrogance. I hope he did not mean snubbing GMA. If US and the Philippines are allies, then why would Obama snub GMA? Or maybe, he wants to stop the alliance. We really don't know yet.

From what I understand from watching the news last night, a LOT of world leaders have been trying to get in touch with Obama to congratulate him, but few are getting through. One that has gotten through is Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper, which is why it was on the news. Obama is not president yet. And he is currently undergoing transition meetings and intelligence reports and has a very busy schedule. I rather doubt Obama even knows that President GMA tried to contact him, as his handlers and advisers generally set up such meetings or phone calls. Politicians don't exactly stand by the phone waiting for it to ring.

You're right. There's that as well. I had forgotten about his grandmother. This is probably the biggest election of our lifetime. History was made that night. And he's overwhelmingly popular. It's understandable that many, many people are trying to get his attention. I think we need to cut him some slack. He hasn't even taken office yet and he's already being scrutinized.
