Once I was in college I ask my religion teacher on why are woman cannot be priest?well in fact jesus doesnt say that only man will be a priest...another question that goes on my mind is that by time of christ is there any discrimination of gender?or it wad really written on the bible that priest would only be for men? as a woman how would we react on this?and as a man would you agree that there would be a woman priest?

i think i will never be used to seeing a woman priest.. well people always thinks that priests are for men only and that is how we grew up. it is a male dominated world but then again, there should be equal chances... women are as convincing as men when it comes to preaching...

Honestly I feel In the True Church Of God/Jesus Christ there is not titles just love. Sincerely! :)Read the word Meditate on it know it. In no place does it say woman can not be esteamed spiritualy or even leaders/teachers/witnesses etc. As a matter of fact I think this is the point... for all to live better more loving and spiritually aboundant lives by example being woman or man. I personally have no problems with a lady giving mass, babtisms, weddings etc. To each their own. Why cant a lady do it one week and a man he next. :)

Ok on second thought Jesus had not one female Disciple. I guess the way I look at this is if you donate to church and the minister usesd the money for his gambling problem. God sees that you gave in good faith and that the minister is using your donation in bad faith and rewards then bolth accordingly. I guess I feel the same about priests/people. I can see how some men might be afraid of a lady having this rank title power and miss using it, but on the other hand same is true of a man with this title/position. we are all sons and daughters of God no more no less. Lets drop the titles and just love. Other than a marraige certificate (permission from the state) what do we really need priests for clergy etc. What does JCh20walker say about his CHurch the true Church of Christ? Does he mention titles clergy etc? :) love on!

Nuns - Group of nuns showing their cheerful smiles.
I believe that woman priests are called nuns. Priests and nuns share the same characteristic - their lives are devoted in religious activities or in other words, it is focused in serving the Lord. I don't think there's a thing called discrimination of gender when it comes to faith. Anyone can serve God, male or female, and it's not necessary to consider them as priests or nuns.

Actually, in the Catholic Church there is gender discrimination. Priests are men only. They are the only ones who can perform the sacraments. Nuns are female religious who pray and serve God, but they cannot perform the sacraments. They cannot even say mass.

if it says in the bible about women not priests then it should be changed, the bible is so outdated, we are living in very very different time to when the bible was written. I believe it says in the bible about everyone being treated equally, i think it ridulous and sexist not to have women priest.

In the old testament, only a male of the tribe of Levi could be a priest. However, in the Christian era, which we are under now, we (both men and women) are all priests, and Jesus Christ is our high priest.

Hi trisha, Welcome to myLot, and I hope that you will enjoy your stay here and make both friends and money. As for your question, although the Roman Catholic church does not accept women priests, other Catholic churches do including the world wide Anglican Communion. I believe the reason for the Roman Catholic church accepting only men into the priesthood is because Jesus choose only men to be his Apostles. At the time of Christ, women were considered to be a man's property, so no one would have accepted the preaching of a women. I believe the day will come when The Roman Catholic Church will accept women priests, but I don't know how long it will take. Blessings.

Unfortunately Jesus never wrote anything, we get what he was all about from others who wrote things down sometimes decades after the occurrences. The strange thing is to their detriment the Roman Catholic church not only requires their priests to be male, but unmarried, with rare exceptions, and celibate to boot. I am sure there are many men willing and able to be priests but cannot as they must be celibate. Similarly I am sure there are any number of capable women that could fill the position of priest as they do in other Christian churches. I think when Jesus comes back, he will be as mad at the Catholic Church as he was about the moneychangers in the temple.

Yes it is written in the Bible, you will find it in 1 Timothy 3:1-12. It clearly state that a Bishop must be the HUSBAND of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

1 Timothy 3 paraphrased it states that deacons and overseers must be "the husband of but one wife" so this passage indicated that it not be a woman, as they cannot be a husband. then in another area 1 Corinthians 15:34 Let your women be silent in the Churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak. but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 15:34 And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in church. So albeit not a specific reference to women not being allowed to become pastors or deacons, but being that women were not at all permitted to speak within Church, certainly would not have been allowed to teach, especially to men. It is true and those that are traditional Bible believers will follow suit today as well.
