It's always been a family tradition to have turkey and I like it better, anyway and don't eat much ham. We used to have ham for Easter, though. I think a couple of my grown children don't care for ham and they all eat turkey. It's funny that 2 of my daughters and I were just talking about cooking the turkey for Thanksgiving and it's going to be me, as usual, since neither of them ever have and they claim they don't know how!!

My brother makes both. We have tons of people, and we have tons of food. It might be way too much indulgence, but it is our major family thing and we enjoy it. He also might do some ribs, or brisket. That is how it is. You can tell we like our food by looking at us.

I like Turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. We have ham for dinners around the Christmas holiday so I stick to Turkey at Thanksgiving. We attend a large dinner each year with many families invited and I think someone always brings ham, but I pass on it at Thanksgiving.

I like the turkey better too for Thanksgiving. I cooked diiner for so many years that it seems weird now when my grown kids cook. I do enjoy their cooking but I always like to cook and it dosent feel like Thanksgiving if I m not close to the stove lol

It has to be turkey. Otherwise, forget Thanksgiving. There is no Thanksgiving if there is no turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, etc.

I prefer the turkey for many reasons , mainly the calories and its so rich where the turkey is lighter.

my personaly favorite is ham. honey glazed ham to be exact! which from the compliments ive gotten, i do a pretty tasty one lol! though others in the house dont like ham nearly as much as i do so most of the time we have turkey. occasionally i get to buy a smaller ham to have as "extra" for when unexpected family members or their friends show up. this year we are having thanksgiving dinner at my aunts..so i dont know what she is making, turkey i imagine, so i might just go ahead and buy a bigger ham to cook for here and have ham sandwhich leftovers all to myself lol!

I like ham better unless of course the turkey is deep fried. I think that we will probably have both this year.

I am not a big fan of turkey but will have it for Thanksgiving. To me ham is for Christmas. We will have turkey, cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, rolls oh yes and cranberry sauce. Iced Tea and some pies. My favorite is the dressing, gravy and cranberry sauce.

I really need the turkey, because I suffer with high blood pressure, but I prefer a ham, I love ham. At my families Thanksgiving dinner we have both and then my sister loves duck. So she always cook that too.
