Do you agree to this propsition.Does television suck out the imagination from the children's mind.Or is it necessary in the contemporary competitive world?Or a just a controlled watching is normal? Please share your opinion

It depends. If you're watching mtv or disney, then yeah you're a mindless zombie, that has never had a thought that was actually your own. But other shows can get the imagination working. All good ideas come from day dreaming. Also there is some very educational things. You have the history channel, discovery channel, national geographic.....(adult swim), um.... some other stuff I can't think of right now.

Well, I can't really say. Until I was about 8, we didn't really have cable, we just had the local stations, but I certainly did watch TV. I watched Sesame Street and Arthur and Barney. When we got satellite TV, I watched Spongebob and whatnot for the rest of my childhood, and I still watch them now. I think that you learn a lot from TV when you're young that your parents can't really teach you. I have a huge imagination, too, so there was no killing done there. I think that I would not use the TV as a babysitter, just for Sesame Street and other things for the first few years, maybe an hour every day or less.
