What are some of the ways that you manage your stress?

Sometimes lately I feel so stressed that I am unhappy, feel hopelss and even depressed. I have so much to do with going with my daughter to her doctors appointments and my mother to hers (she is 83 years old) and taking care of my 3 year old grandaughter. I feel bad and ashamed when I snap at my grandaughter. She doesn't understand why I do it and then I feel like crying because I ashamed. I need some ways to try to not be stressed. I try to think positive and pray. My daughter has an appointment this week to find out the results of her biopsy. She had some abnormal cells on the cervix and had a biopsy to find out if it is cancer. I hope some of this stress will go away when we know the results and know what we are dealing with. How do you handle stress in your life?

Hey jane! It is very difficult to deal with stress! If I knew what the answer was on how to deal with it I would surely tell you. I have not found a good and fool proof way. You have to find what way is best for you. Whatever way is best for you to relax. I come here to mylot. That helps me a little. I listen to music. That helps a little too. I just don't have an answer for you, but I wish I did. I did tell you that I had the same problem as your daughter and the same biopsy and they thought I had cancer and it wasn't. So hopefully she will have the same outcome. I am praying for her. You just have to do the best you can to find whatever makes you feel calm for now. I hope that everything will work out for the best. I believe that it will.

What works for me is to find things that I'm grateful for... It isn't easy whenever you are going through a lot of stress but it works. Try to remember the last time you were happy and how you felt. Remember what you were thinking about then. I have found that focus has a big role in our emotions. If you can try and find the little things that you appreciate maybe that will help... Someone else always has a worse situation. Looking outside of ourselves and our situations may generate things that you are grateful for. Good Luck!

I usually never feel stress but sometime it tends to come my way. When I am stressed most of time i close my eyes . As i meditate in the morning time , which I suppose keep me out of the stress thing . Its the best way to get out of stress at anypoint of time . I close my eyes look into my soul and take deep breathes . this relax me a lot.

Thank you for your response. I used to meditate but haven't done that in a long time. I need to start back.
