World Dominance -- India ???

Under the captaincy of Dhoni, this Indian team has really come a long way. From winning the T20 World Cup, to beating Australia in their home yard and in ours, this Indian team has shown signs of claiming the No.1 Spot in world cricket. What i was wondering was, Dhoni is having the same start as Ganguly did when he became the captain. Think about it. Ganguly too started off with a bang, winning matches, not afraid of backlashes, but look what happened now. Ofcourse, not to forget that time is still on Dhoni's side. He is young and has a long way to go. My question is - whether this Indian team, under the leadership of Dhoni, has what it takes to do what the Windies did in the 70's or what the Aussies are doing now? That is - World Dominance. Please keep this in mind that India has not played against South Africa since T20WC, or England(they have a 7 match ODI series coming soon). And they were recently beaten by Srilanka and Pakistan. And all these teams ready to take the mantle of the No.1 ranked side in the world. Patriotism apart, who do you think will be the next 'Australia' of the 2000's?

yes subha is right. its too early to say india will dominate in cricket as australia did. india still have to prove that they can win and win outside india. india need to get more good fast bowlers like zaheer if they want to dominate the sports.

I think that India is the next team which will dominate the world in the field of cricket. This is because it has got all the qualities to become the no.1 team in the world.A very intelligent captain, one of the strongest batting line ups,and cunning and agressive bowling attack.I think that india has to practise a little on their fielding. But in my view indians have shown the signs of them being on top. And this will be surely proved if india beats englnd in the forthcoming series...

i think the boys under the leadership of Mr cool ,Dhoni can have what ever it takes to be the no.1 team in the world. even if some of the big names retire from the game there are many youngsters pushing themselves and asking for a spot in Indian team and they will do well.
