Diamond-studded Mobile Phones

Can you afford one? I really like the idea of flashing my own diamond-crusted phone but nahhh! That would be too scary. Muggers here in my country will even go for a $100 phone what more for a $134,000 phone? Wow! I stumbled across this featured item at ABS-CBN news central so I decided to write a hub about it at HubPages, go ahead and read all about this poshy and expensive mobile phone @ http://hubpages.com/_nico/hub/Diamond-studded-mobile-phones--Selling-like-pancakes Then tell me later if you'll get one if you can afford it (I don't think I will, seems like a capricious item, a waste of money). What do you think of those who bought themselves one? Really wealthy eh?

This type of phone seems like something for people who have cash to blow. Imagine how many needy kids you can feed with cost of this phone, Pure vanity not for me even if I had millions. Sure be a drag to loose it or have it stole. I have better things to concern myself with. If you want to give me one for christmas I will take it. hehehehe :) Then sell and buy land for a ecocommunity where we can help to feed the needy not mention give them a place to live education and work.

Yes you're right, definitely many mouths will benefit with that amount! But let it be known as well that I'm ok too if you're planning to give me one as a gift as well! Hahaha! I like your social concerns, keep it up!

I really don't understand why anyone would want a diamond encruste phone. I don't get it, you're saying you'd like to "flash" your phone? surely a phone is for making calls, not for showing off to other people?

Yeah, some of these wealthy people want to flash their expensive stuff, I don't anyway, I'm not wealthy, hihihi! I guess they wanna go with the "Fashionable Technology" trend!

I guess it all comes down to if you can afford one of those phones at that cost, then you are the sort of person who will have protection, and even at the worst scenario of losing it, by whatever means, then you wouldn't care and just claim the insurance and get another one.

Hahaha! That's really wise, have it insured! . But well, you're right, such a purchase will require tons of bodyguards and insurance protection as well. Nice response

What would be the difference if the person with that phone answer a phone call and receive his messages and i use my motorola c113 to answer a phone call and receive messages too? i think there is no big difference there. The only difference is the fact that someone with that flashy phone will always be checking messages even though he never heard of any message coming, just to show it to people at all times. And i also think is for the wealthy people who can enjoy having everything, what if it fall into a washing machine while i'm doing my washing...? how much will it cost me for the repair...half of the money i bought it? I think is just a waste of money, unless if you have enough cash that you don't know what to do with and you can always waste it on things like a $134,000 cell phone or a $37,000 Hermes Birkin handbag

You are funny loxion, but yep , there's a hint of truth there. But it's really scary to flash something like that too. Oh boy! These wealthy bunch can really do things with their money huh!

Yeah, i mean what if you are in a company of friends or maybe you are at the party and no one seems to phone you or no one is sending message??? you just take it out and people will see that this chap owns an expensive stuff. Some of this "rich" people has some money to play, is like you are gamling, what if your phone fall on the ground by mistake and brrrrrake apart...you will probably thinking of hanging yourself

Just as you said, you'd be afraid to flash it for fear of someone taking it. Sounds like way too much stress for me, especially to be viewed as "high society". I'd rather spend that money on something worthwhile, like a house or car or school. I'm not big on a bunch of stuff being on my phone anyway, I think it looks classy and stylish if its just a plain sleek black or just well taken care of.

Yes, at least no one can uproot and steal the house as easily as anyone can with a mobile phone! Hihihi! I like a sleek black phone too, makes me look really professional

Oh I guess its too much for a phone that have that additional accessory. I even think its too much already and has no use at all except for aesthetics only. I would buy a much more techie gadget that a diamond studded one.

I think those people who bought themselves diamond-encrusted mobile phones already have everything else in the world, so they have to waste money on a frivolous item such as this. Even if I had the money, I wouldn't want a phone that was worth more than my car. Your right about muggers, if someone saw you flip open a phone such as this, they'd follow you- right into a dark alley. Plus I'm not too good to my phones. They end up hitting the ground one way or another. I'd hate to lose a precious diamond by forgetting my phone was in my lap when sliding out the car.

I guess you're right, must have own many houses and cars huh! But I dig your point about forgetting your phone on your lap, a luxury item like that shouldn't go sliding out of the car! Hihihi! Happy mylotting!

Well, I think if I have that much money and more, why not? But I'm not really into diamonds anyway. Yes, Boyfriend is lucky and unlucky at the same time. He got a girlfriend who doesn't care much for diamonds and jewelry and now he's asking me for hints as to what kind of ring I want and I have no clue and idea so he's on his own there. But back to the phone, I'm happy with my $40 phone when I got it. It still makes me connect to people I really want to connect to, no diamonds needed there. My brother has an iphone and until now, I still am wary about touching it or even just answering it for fear of breaking it.

What a lucky guy indeed! Hmmm... he's asking for hints now, ask him to visit Tiffany's, they're but ready to give all the hints he needed, hahaha! I'm pretty contented with my $40 phone too! The main thing is to communicate I guess, not that I would mind if someone hands me a diamond-studded phone on my birthday! Hihihi!

ACtually it's no used to have a nice and expensive handphone but need to use it discretely for being feared being stolen. It's a total wastage if it's happened. I rather go for the cheap handphone but can use it freely without having to attract any "unexpected interest" from people around me. I guess the person who have this phone is having a lot of floating money and dont know where to spend it anymore. Beside that, sure he/she go anywhere with being surrounded by personal bodyguard.

Yes, it's such a waste to buy something that you won't be able to use anytime anywhere. You're right about the bodyguard staff, someone who can afford this phone must be able to afford a bodyguard!

It is just very impractical. Only the rich and famous might want to have one like that. The thing is , you wouldnt want to use it anymore because you're scared to have it snatched from you.

My sentiments exactly dear katrhina... I would really look stupid looking around, looking behind me while using the phone, as if I'm getting paranoid, hahaha! What a pathetic sight! Thanks for dropping by!
