Better computer for online games

I've just got a confirmation for my internet connection at home to be installed tomorrow and I'm getting excited about it. My computer is an old one which is only pentium 3, enough to run some simple programs. I am thinking of buying a new one which can carry out more complicated jobs including online games. Can you suggest specs of a computer that I might purchase to run games like DOTA?

Thanks for the best response but have you purchased your new computer. If no then you could go for these configurations intel i3-530m and a 4GB DDR3 Ram,you can go for intel i5 also if it fits in your budget.Hard disk could be increased to 320 though the latest is 500 and you could put a 512MB DDR3 graphics card to play the latest games though the latest us 1GB.

Minimum system requirement for the game is 256 mb ram and 32 mb video card. A Pentium 4 processor should do the trick. If you have higher specs than my recommended minimum system requirement, then there is no problem.

If you are a hard core gamer and would like to play online games get your self Intel Core2Duo and also for some serious gaming get yourself an ATI Raedon Gamer card. If you are into gaming from head to toe you can also choose to buy a Gaming Computer. NOTE:- As far as the operating system is concerned nowdays you will be getting Windows Vista by default and some online games might not work with Vista but don't worry wait for sometime for the Vista version of the game to be released.
