We had thunderstorms last night

It did not affect my desktop, but it took out my wireless connection to my lap top. I only had to reset it though. I thought the weather was really weird for November. So did you have thunderstorms last night? How does weather affect your computer connection? I have DSL for my desk top, how about you?

Wow. I do not envy you. The surge protectors have always seemed to do their job. I once had lightning hit and blow the cable off the house and fry the cable box. I think that was before I had a computer.

The weather in my city is sunny recently, but it's a bit cold. My laptop met with a small accident 3 days ago. My colleague got a half cup of water on the keyboard of my laptop without care. Luckily, only the keyboard went wrong. I changed a new one with RMB 320 Yuan. I wondered if there is any laptop which can be water-proof? My English is not very good.I hope to improve by communicating with the cybermates here.

I usually do not go on the computer when we have a thunderstorm. I prefer to curl up with a good book. My hubby will go on the computer and play online games. The weather doesn't seem to bother our internet connection. That is unless the storm causes a power outage!

It tripped my surge protector, I guess. Nothing permanent.

Bummer. We just had coldness last night here in Minnesota. Now today............ UGHHH! It is freezing rain right now. Turning into snow and rain mix later this afternoon. Then to all snow this evening. My car and driveway and patio are covered in a thin veil of ice already. Nasty for walking. Driving not bad,the roadways are a lot warmer than my driveway. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My computer was just fine last night. We also had thunderstorms and rain. It was really crazy weather for November.

The only thing predictable about weather is its unpredictability.

I usually do not have computer trouble. Like I said, my wireless got buzzed, or more likely, since I had it plugged in, the surge protector flipped. When that happens my laptop forgets where the router is and then can do nothing.

The first part of November we had a lot of Rain and a couple of minor Thunderstorms, but nothing too bad. Just had some Flooding in some areas though because of the heavy rains. Now that it is December, today we are having Rain and colder temperatures, but nothing out of the ordinary.

I always switch off my computers and modems when there is a thunderstorm. It is not the first time that it struck my desktop and I had to change the power supply. I learned it at my own expense to switch everything off and unplug them as well. © ronaldinu 2008

We have cloudy weather and very windy and supposed to have rain headed out way today or tomorrow. Usually the weather don't bother my computers. I am not sure if there is a difference in DSL and Broadband but I know it says broadband when I bring up my screen to sign on. Now if they could figure out how to stop the weather from messing with the satellite TV. hahaha

This is the only problem I ever seem to have. I do not have satellite, partly for that reason.

We only get thunderstorms in July and August...sometimes then the wind is quite strong and the thunder and lightning near enough that it is best to turn the computer off and play another time. Otherwise, there is no noticeable problem with our broadband/cable connection. Glad it didn't take out your whole computer!

I'm sure if you had storms so did we....now you have me trying to remember. The weather has been strange. I've sure been enjoying the bit of warmer days this past week or so, but they are saying snow by Tuesday. However, it's got a good mist coming down out there now that will put a layer of ice on the streets causing lots of accidents. Marsha

We had a little bit of rain but not a thunderstorm. It was just enough to be really annoying. We also had a bit of hail that of course was falling right when my son and I had to get in the car to take him to school. It wasn't big hail though thank goodness, because it takes me a couple minutes to get him into his car seat. But no thunder & lightning.

It does seem like my computer moves a lot slower when it is raining and or thunder storming. We did not have either last night. we are in Ohio. I am not sure where you are. But, I think that we are far enough part not to have the same weather.I am glad that you did not loose either of you computer because of the storm that is so scary and costly. I have been wanting to get a laptop.. maybe he someday

You are so lucky. When thunderstorms are pedicted around here, I unplug my power cord to my computer. I had lightning hit the house before and take out my tv. I make my money on the computer, I can't afford to loose that. I am so happy that you got lucky. I have cable modem for my internet access.

We had a quick thunderstorm this afternoon, even a tornado warning, but the thing flew thru town so fast it barely had time to really RAIN!
