My cat is so stupid

One of my cat's favorite spots to sleep is at my feet under my desk, regardless if I'm sitting here or not. It sort of bothers me that he sleeps there, and I always try to shoo him away, but he comes right back, so I've gotten used to ignoring him. Well my desk chair is on wheels. Anytime I move around I end up rolling onto his tail by accident. Most of the time he doesn't even notice because he's long hair, usually I just get the hair. He'll only notice if he goes to move and can't move his tail, then he'll meow until I move the chair off him. But this happens a few times a day, you'd think the dumb cat would learn not to sleep under my desk. He absolutely refuses to move!

Aren't cats just the most stubborn creatures on earth??? I have 2 that insists on staying under my feet, I step on both of them a minimum of 12 times a day. Then they get p1ssed at me for stepping on them. I have tried everything to stop this behavior but NOTHING has stopped either of them so far. One is a longhair & he cries even when I just step on his hair...forget actually stepping on his tail. If I try stepping over him, he jumps to wherever my foot is going!!! Yet, when they aren't being brats, they are the sweetest, most loving critters ever put on this planet!!! The short haired one thinks it is his job to lay on my keyboard & roll over the keys to show me just how cute he really is!!! The one thing I have learned is you just have to learn to accept them just like they are...warts & all!!!

LOL, too cute. My cats rarely get on my desk. Well actually this stupid one used to. He'd either be on my desk or on hubby's, and we both would get so mad. I can't wait till spring time when he starts going outside again. He used to just sleep in the sun all day long.

LOL! Aren't our furry darlings just funny at times?? my computer desk chair has wheels too, and I never quite know where Screamer is lurking, but she is always near, if she is not on top of my chair she is in one beside me, or maybe in the shelves on my computer desk...and yes at times she will be on the floor asleep right under my feet, or in the way of my chair when I spin around to grab something behind me, I'll hear this ( shrieking sound) Yep! I just run over her long tail or something too....(sigh)! Love my Cat but at times she just gets in the way...Argghhh! Her Favorite trick is to up under the computer desk right under the key board tray and I'll be typing away or grabbing my ink pen and suddenly here is this black paw swiping at me, or her trying to swipe my pen suddenly...LOL! She makes me shriek every time she does that to me...ROTFL! I'll yell at her DANG IT SCREAMER!! You scared the crap outta me!! I swear she is laughing under the table tray... BAd kitty!!! LOL!

That's cute. I had a cat who used to jump out and attack me from around corners and such. She was a crazy cat, but she never hurt me, she never had claws out. Hubby still laughs thinking of the times she was chasing me through the house, batting at my ankles while I ran screaming because she had just scared the life out of me.

I had a cat once that would sleep between my ankles when I was in bed asleep. Every time I would roll over he would get trapped under the blankets and have to fight his way free. He did figure it out eventually. Then he started sleeping on my pillow wrapped around my head. I guess he just wanted to be close.

I have to close the door when I go to bed because I don't like the cats to sleep with me. It makes me uncomfortable.

I don't know. I would actually try to not move the chair so that it lands on the tail of my beloved cat. :)

Just be thankful the cat doesn't sleep on the keyboard like mine does. You should see some of the unexpected e-mails that my cat has sent. The other thing that is fun is when you come back, and someone has typed 48 pages of T's or some other letter.

This cat used to sleep on my desk and I'd come home to have like 70 internet pages open!

My cat doesn't have a tail to move. Whenever I'm working on the computer my cat likes to sit by my feet. It must be a cat thing. With the weather getting cold my cat started sleeping on my bed next to my feet. What is it with the feet? She's been leaving her favorite toy on my pillow. I think she's territorial. Maybe she's trying to tell me something. A few hours ago she sat on my chair. She wouldn't budge. I had to sit on the corner of the chair. She has me trained. I don't think cats are stupid. Cats just like to play head games with us.

I have 4 animals - 2 dogs and 2 cats - that are just as dumb. They insist on being near me when I'm on the computer - under my desk, directly behind my desk chair. They either get hurt or have to scurry away quickly so they aren't hurt. But they don't learn or change their sleeping places.

Ever heard this phrase before? "Cats are like women - unpredictable and temperantal" It's not that they are dumb, it is just that they have an attitude that says I will do it my way, and no one can stop me from doing what I want. The ever confident of cats is what makes me fall in love with them in the very first place! When your cat decides for himself that he is the boss and moving away from the desk is his own decision, he will move. Trust me on that. Cats would not move just because you stepped on its tail or just because you get it trapped when you move your chair over its tail. Because by doing so, to the cat, you have won! And their competitive nature will definately not allow you to win. Lol that is just so smart of your cat. They want you to move. Having a cat is like being a slave to it. Lol, they are the boss! And they are not as easily bribed as dogs. (No offense to dog lovers).. And once in a while, they will do things that is so unpredictable that we could never expect them to. And that is what makes cats so lovable, with their crazy and self assured antics, as well as their manipulative and smart nature. Well take care and happy mylottinG! Good luck with showing your cat who is the boss too!!

My cat is the same way, he sleeps on my bed at my feet and gets kicked off atleast 5 times a night but still comes back. I think, he thinks, he'll eventually win the battle. Cats are very territorial. If they say it's their spot, well, it's their spot, period. I guess we just have to adapt to them.

There is a solution to get your cat to stop sleeping under your desk. Just simply stop washing your feet. He will eventually get sick of the chessy smell, and probably run away from home. Another solution that would completely keep your cat away from your feet is to kick the cat litter out of his A$$! I wouldn't suggest doing this cause I'm a snitch, and I will report you to for animal cruelty.

My cat does like to sleep at my feet too and sometimes I have accidently pushed her off the bed. Maybe your cat likes to be at your feet because he feels close to you and wants to be near you. Maybe he doesn't realize that you will roll over his tail from time to time, or he doesn't think is tail is in the way.

hi, it does sounds so irritating but i guess maybe your cat feel comfortable on that area. that's why no matter what you do or even he's feeling hurt (tail part) we doesn't bother at all. well, my cat is on the other way around, he like to sleep on the chair. once i about to sit he will jump and sit before me. and if there are no available space he will start to disturb us with his meow sound. or else he will sleep on top of whatever that occupies the chair.
