I'm on they do not call list also. I never get any calls from telemarketers. I am online alot though and they cannot get through during business hours also because I have dialup and it ties up the phone line.

I am no the not call list here in Australia and i only seem to get charities now which they are allowed to call but not wanting to sound awful i don't think they should be allowed either, i believe if people want to give to charities they will, they should only be allowed to post requests out...i do believe here in Australia so i don't know if it is so in your country, if a compny rings you when you are on the no call list you can ask them what company it is and if reported they will be fined a lot of money...as my feelings are that I pay for my telephone line for my own use and not for companies to sell their products, thank heavens something has been done...

Maybe this will slow down their calls, but two telemarketing companies who do solicitations for Dish Network have been fined for calling people on the DNC list a total of over 95K. This is actually a discount from the 11mil that they were originally slated to pay. http://www.networkworld.com/community/node/29948 But my question is about DirecTV. We still get calls about getting that service. The funny thing is, not only are we on the do not call list, but we've had DirecTV service for over three years!!!

Oh, forgot to tell you. The very next time that they, or any other solicitor calls, ask to be put on their personal DO NOT CALL list. This means that they cannot contact you for any reason after your request. Then, if they do decide to contact you after this, you have the right to pursue legal action.

Im on the Do Not Call list too. If I do get a call like that, I just tell them I am on the DO not call list , so please don't call here again! Usually works unless they are on automatic dialer

Yeah, either will work. But I ask to be on their personal DO NOT CALL list because it deletes me from the autodialer and all. Plus some companies, although they're supposed to, don't check the national registry before calling. Also, it pays to be nice when you are asking to be put on the company's DO NOT CALL list. Some representatives like to be snarky when you have an attitude, tell you they have put you on the list, and then don't do it just for fun. Trust me, although I wasn't the one doing it, I used to be on that side of things, and know a couple representatives that have done it.

I used to be when we still used a landline, but we just use our cells now. I probably should go ahead and add our cell phones to the list though.
