We have one tank right now, a 55 gallon one with 4 pleco's in it. It's going to be sold though b/c we've had it for 7 years and frankly I'm kind of tired of it. At one time we had like 6 tanks of different sizes. I'd love to get a small one with snails in it (apple snails) but I don't want to have to do all the work that comes with it...there's alot of care and upkeep that go with keeping a tank. As of now, our tank somehow got a couple tiny snails in it and they've overrun the tank. They've killed all our fish except the pleco's so I'm just going to sell the whole thing and be done with it. On the up side, they are great to watch and we've really enjoyed watching our fish over the years. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**

The larger the tank the easier it is to take care of. I say this from experience (over 55 years experience in the aquarium hobby). I as you , "Which freezes over first, a pond of a lake?" If you drop a drop of poison in each a large tank and a small tank, in which will the fish die first? For the first question, the answer is the pond will freeze over first because it is a smaller amount of water. The second answer is that the poison is more concentrated in the smaller tank and will affect the fish in the smaller tank first. As far as your snails goes, it shows me that you are overfeeding your tank. If yo cut back on feeding your tank it will cut down on the snails reproducing as fast. Also there are fish that love to eat snails sch as the clown loaches. or there are smaller loaches that will also eat snails.

Wow!!! So many! I only have 2 at home. My dad cares for one and I take care of the other one. We don't breed fish because we're not good at it. I haven't even cleaned my aquarium in months!! When I'm older, I want to have just one big aquarium in my home, preferably as a divider between rooms. That would be super cool!

Some fish are easier to get to breed in aquariums than other fish are, If you are wanting to breed a particular fish then you should try to mimic the conditions that they come from in the wild as much as you can. But one thing is that you need to start to do water changes (10 to 20% once a week to give them better conditions, Would you like to drink water out of the toilet? That is what is happening if you do not change some of the water in the tank and the only way to "flush the toilet" is to do a water change for them. Do not change all of the water at a time or you will stress them and lower their resistance to diseases. Yes filters will take out particulates but not the liquid pollutants.

You really have a lot of aquariums:) I have only one aquarium and I don't have more space to have one more aquarium. It's good enough for me to have one. I love China

I have 5 aquariums up. I'm planning to take one tank down, as am putting in another pond. I can easily see ponds are a lot easier to maintain and the fish are doing great.

I would love to have an aquarium but I don't want to spend the time maintaining one. Even with a goldfish in a bowl you have to change the water and you have to be careful because of the chlorine content in tap water.
