My 6 yr old son is sleeping with me tonight as he hasn't been well over the last few days. Just a few moments ago I heard a funny sound. I thought it sounded like he was crying but when I leaned a little closer, he was actually laughing. It made me giggle too. I thought it was cute Have you heard your child/ren, partners, husbands and or wives laugh in their sleep? How about talking in their sleep? Share your stories, Thanks.

i did ask them when they woke up, the reasons why they were laughing... my son says it's about the cartoon Kim Possible, and my hubby, he told me about it... i just forgot now, what was it all about. :)

I love watching my little 7 year old sister sleep and she laughs and giggles in her sleep that lets me know she is happy and having sweet dreams. I can tell she has had a good day because I guess in her sleep she is remembering and laughing. My grandmother always said it was the angels visiting hem in heir sleep and playing with them. Either way it is a beautiful site and sound. My brother and his son are really bad for talking in their sleep they can hold a one sided conversation with themselves. I have heard it many times.

In a world like today, it is comforting to think that angels visit our little ones sleep. I guess it is a blessing of some sort to be frolicking with the angels in their dreams.

Many others have mentioned when children dream, angels are visiting them in their sleep. I think that is so cute.

There are a couple kids in my class that laugh and make all kinds of sounds in their sleep. The laughing usually sounds like crying at first and I have to go and listen cause it kinda weirds me out sometimes. lol My husband mumbles alot in his sleep, but I can poke him or smack him on the arm and wake him up and tell him to shut up. :D

I can feel your feeling because I also have similar case with my son.But my son just 9 monthes. He can learn laugh, speak, walk, etc now.As every one know, the cry is instinctive to baby. But the smile and laughing aren't easy to him.We must play with him to tease. The biggest pleasure is baby's smile when I saw my baby's photo.

When my son was little he would always climb into our bed.He used to squeeze down between us and turn round with his head in the small of my husbands back and his feet in the small of my back the next thing I knew I rolled out of bed. so I used to go to his room, sometimes it was my husband who got shoved out and we used to joke about musical beds,he was so cute how could you moan,my husband sometimes giggles in his sleep and it is so funny , and sometimes he tells jokes to someone, and mutters away for hours then it is back to musical beds again.x

We play musical beds too and still do. Since my son was not well for a few days earlier this week, he's been really clingy to me so Daddy had to sleep in his bed ALL week. Don't think my son is giving up his daddy side of the bed for a while LOL

I have never heard of this. But it is better to laugh during sleep rather than getting a scary nightmare. Yes I do talk in my sleep and I did sleepwalking when I was young © ronaldinu 2008

I know that it is common for infants to laugh in their sleep. They are said to be playing with angels. Maybe a cute girl kissed Maddy on the cheek in his dream, hehe. I believe he is still innocent enough to be playing with the angels also though.

Haha, lately I've been hearing a new name around the house. Her name is Tina, a girl in his class. She's the tallest one too. Last year it was Annie and this year it's Tina LOL we were at "Michaels" arts and crafts store last night to buy some paint and things for the boy scouts boat regatta on Friday - maddy has his own wooden boat to put together and paint. We passed a stand with small christmas ornaments and it had names on them. He instantly went looking for one with Tina's name on it and wanted to buy it. I said he could with his pocket money but he forgot to bring it. I said we will be back LOL too funny!

No, I haven't heard laughing, but I have heard my 5 yr old son talk in while he was sleeping. It was if he was having a very vivid dream and he was talking to whoever he saw in his dream. But if you ask him was he dreaming, he probably would say no. Wow, but laughing while sleeping that is something I would probably record on a video camera and submit to America's funniest videos. You'll never know, you might actually WIN!!!

My children and husband have all laughed in their sleep. It is sooo funny to watch someone laugh in their sleep. Their expressions change so quickly while their are sleeping. One second their are sleeping, their face all peaceful and then the next second they are laughing. I have even woken myself up from laughing a few times. That is always comical!!! Wow maddysmommy you have a lot of posts.......how long have you been on myLot?

My daughter did that more times than I can count when she was a baby. I loved it. We tried getting it on video a couple times but you know how they stop as soon as you get the camera. I have one still photo that helps me remember though. My son didn't do it much though.

I woke my self up laughing just the other night! I was dreaming that I had just played a great joke on some kids and I was laughing so hard I woke myself up laughing! One of my ex bfs was once rubbing his face in the pillow. I could tell he was asleep, and I always loved to get him talking in his sleep, so I asked him what he was doing. He said he was rubbing his face in the carpet, hehehe, I could not imagine what he was dreaming that would have him rubbing his face in the carpet! Was he dreaming he was a dog maybe??

My Buster - He looks so silly in this shot
I can recall being told by my mother that when my younger brother and I were small we held a conversation about UFOs in our sleep once. We were throwing a paper plate around as well while talking. Now my beagle Buster seems to have a breathing disorder of some type. he constantly snores and grunts and wheezes in his sleep. I have yet to hear my grandkids talk or giggle in their sleep. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

It's so cute that your son laughed when he was sleeping. Well, I don't remember I have seen anyone laughing when they are sleeping. Sometimes, my sister talked when she was sleeping, perhaps when she was very tired. It really scared me sometimes, when I heard her talking in the midnight. Sometimes, I thought she really talked to me, when I responded to her, she didn't say anything, then I knew she was actually dreaming. I usually couldn't hear what she was actually talking about.

I've had my son talk in his sleep before also, and it sounded like he was talking with his friends from school about something to do with Pokemon. Sounded very cute. Thanks for sharing kaka.

Hmmmm.....I have to girls and you bet, I also experienced that one with them. I love it and it's so cute. I am really fond of waking up at night and just watching them sleep. It would then take me hours to go back to sleep because I would just look at their cute faces and touch their soft skin.

Sleepwalking? where does she wonder off to when she sleep walks? i would be scared they would hurt themselves. Do you snap them out of it or let them be?

the first time i saw her do it was when she had just started walking and found her walking up and down her cot.but a few years ago she came into the sitting room(we lived in a flat then)and we had a bean bag on the floor which she must have thought was the toilet.all i could do was talk to her and gentle guide her to the toilet which is when she woke up.very red faced when i told her.now we are in a house we have a stair gate up because her sister has seizures and get confused when she has them.we also have a camera in the room which we can watch on the tv downstairs.i never try to wake her when she does sleep walk just leave her to it unless shes gonna do something like i said about
