I was alawys taught that you show your appreciation to the people that do you a good service. So at christmas my mother always got my teacher a gift. Since now I have kids I do the same thing. It is not a lot that I get but it is something that says thanks for your hard work and for putting up with my kids.... So do you do this? Who else do you buy gifts for at christmas other than family?

we dont have a lot of money, but i like to make sure the teacher is rewarded for all their hard effort (even though they get paid for it - they do a lot of work at home!) what i usually do is either buy them something small or make them something. (we do this for our sunday school teachers too) but we have friends that are teachers and they get a lot of stuff such as $50- gift certificates to the mall!

Hmmm I can not afford gift certificates but if I could that would be a good gift. They do put alot of work into teaching our kids. Thanks for commenting.

My son's teacher always gets something. Last year he gave his teacher, principal, and bus driver some of my homemade toffee. They really liked that gift and it was homemade, so it did not cost me much.

I try to give my kids' teachers a little something. But since my son has extra help at school it means more presents. I know they can get tired of candy, so I try to make them something. I made book marks last year and all the teachers loved them. This year, I am making hand stamped marble coasters for them. It's afforadable and fun.

Wow that sounds great. I have a son who has an aide because he is blind and I always get his aide something a little bit more special, she has worked with him for a few years now. Happy mylotting.
