Blackberry Muffins are in the oven right now

Man do they smell good. They have a bit of cinnamon in them and it is making the house smell amazing. Do you like blackberries? Have you ever had Blackberry Muffins? What is your favorite berry to bake with?

Hi Lilybug, you are making me salivate again. do you use fresh blackberries or are they tinned? As a child we would go blackberrying - spending the whole day picking to take home and eating. My mother didn't make muffins but made blackberry and apple pies and also blackberry jams. She would also cook them down with sugar and a little water and serve them with fresh cream. We didn;t know about cholesterol then! Happy baking!

They were fresh a few months ago. I picked them out of my yard this summer and put them in the freezer. I have enough left for about 5 more batches of blackberry muffins.

Wow, that is great. I used to do more when I was on the farm with all the children. We used to give out land that we weren't using to our workers who grew their own crops to sell in the markets. In exchange for using the land they would keep us supplied with fresh veggies. It was wonderful. I once found a recipe to make ketchup and did quite a few gallons of this product. It was so easy to make too. I used to freeze a lot of things too. Good on you!

No, I don't think that I have.. They sound like they really smell good! And it smells good enough to eat! I do love the aroma that baking sweets leaves in the house!

I'm not sure if I have tried blackberry muffins. I do love blueberry muffins though. I have a pkt in the cupboard which I should bake up too. Just reading your discussion is making me want some lol :)

I prefer black raspberries, but we only get a few of those. The blackberries we had a ton of this past summer, so that it what I used.

Sounds yummy. Having those smells in the house is always nice. I like blueberry muffins the best. So Blueberry would be my favorite baking berry.

It did smell good. I popped banana nut in shortly after. That smell REALLY lingers.
