How do you improve your rating? The Little Stars by your Name?

I just received a star today on my account. I am not sure what exactly they are for? But I don't like seeing a 5 when there is a 10 out there. So how do you improve your rating? Do you get a new star for every 100 posts? I really would like to know. Or is it based on how long your replys are or the quality of them?

Yes the star rating can change ever day not just ever 100 posts. Many things can effect this. Best to be niceand curtious with all posts. But still you cant make every one happy all the time and still retain apart of your character. So just dont worry about it. Have fun keep posting. You can also get a jelous troll person who has nothing better to do than go and rate all your conversations with a minus. Oh it has something to do with the plus and minuses next to your posts and everyones elses comments. you rate others others rate you. But dont worry about it even if its a one. Just have fun. As far as I can tell by your posts and replys you are very nice polite and friendly so sounds like a troll is wanting you 2 feel bad about having a low rating It will pass. Keep doing what your doing and know I think its great at least and the others here in the lot are not vendictive. Be happy. :)

Thank you very much for your warm comment. I too feel people can get jeolous on here or just want to have some fun messing with people's ratings. I won't look at them anymore. And I do enjoy the diversity in this community. Lots of different things to talk about and different things to learn. So far I'm loving it. And I try to be nice and polite most of the time but sometimes I just have my moods I'm sure like most people. But I will keep posting and look forward to those pest ;) to go away :) Ok people that was a joke :) I love talking with all the people on here even those who don't agree with me :) That's why we call it being are selves. And This is are character. IT makes us unique.

in this case, with all due respect, i really hope the mylotters will give us a more transparent rules introduction... therefore there will not be so many questions about how ratings improved or how they value the quality of discussions, etc.

That would be great to have that so newbies alike can know and why they are rated the way we are. I just started posting for about a week now. And I just found it out because they put the start next to it around a 100 posts. But I agree with you. My lot should have it on here somewhere.

I don't know exactly how it works, but mine usually drops a point or two soon after I post a comment that manages to pi$s a lot of people off...LOL

So you think it's based on posting comments? Maybe it is based on the quality of the comment than. I try to keep all of my comments at least a few sentences long. Honestly I dont' think if it droped a point I would really care. I just don't like starting off so low. I rather be up in at least the 8's.

I don't know how to improve it neither, but I know that the mylotters has to do with it.. My experience here is that when a lot people give [-] rate to one of your discussions or responses, your rating drops a lot! I remember that I started a discussion that not everyone like it and my rating dropped from 9 to 6 in a day.. and after a lot good replies and I think that some user give me [+] rate my star shows again 7 but no more.. But I think that most of the user don't rate positively to a discussion or reply due of the ignorance of ratings.. that's what I think..

That could be about right. See I've never rated a discussion so maybe you are right that is what affects us whether we get a higher star or not. So I quess some people didn't like what I wanted to talk about. Oh well there problem not mind :) I just like having fun and interesting conversations. That's what mylot is for. Plus haven't we learned the world is full of diverse people?

I'd really love to have this question answered too. I saw that I went from eight stars to nine stars yesterday, and do feel that I'd rather have ten. Thanks for asking.

No problem. I just don't understand why I got only 5 stars. I don't reply with really short sentences. Or what I though are not short sentences. Or is this based on how many discussions you started and than were deleted. It could be that. I've noticed a few discussions deleted.

Well I noticed I got a star put by my name when I reached a 100 posts. So that's why I was wondering about it. And I wonder if you have a higher rating if it does increase your earnings. that'd be very nice to know.
