Do you think everyone sort of hates his or her job?

My residency friend told me that she hated her job so much! She really wanna be out of it! "I have been in the OR for 28 hours. The patient doesn't die though! I will!" , She said! My aunt is a high school techer. I think her job is pretty good and idle. However, she always complained that she had been surferring a lot! Day after day, everyone told me he or she hated the job! No one really has what it takes to work! Is that true? I tried to persuade these guys that all people hated their jobs. Thus, chaning jobs or something doesn't make so much sense! If you find another job, you will hate it again! You imagine that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. When you cross the fence, whichh in turn, you may find that it is not green either. What do you think?

I actually like my job. I work in a restaurant called ZAXBY'S. I have a good team of managers, and we have a good crew. It gets a little hectic and annoying at times, but overall, we have a lot of fun at work. It isn't the best money in the world, so I am constantly on the lookout for something better, but I enjoy the work most of the time.

This reminds me of something. I dream to be a gourmet just like the Ratatouille. It is not possible though!

Well I wish I could afford not to work as much as I have to these days, but even if I were financially secure enough not to have to worry about working, I would probably keep my job there a couple of days per week just to have something to do.

Hey there hiddenwing I do think there is an elliment of truth in this, some people really do hate their job. At the moment I am a stay at home mum and it is the best job in the world for me. Before that I worked as a receptionist and telephonist for prestigeous Law Firm who were great to work for and I loved my job. I got to smile at people all day without people thinking I am mad LOL

Glad to see the simpsons. I really like the cartoon! I think your job is pretty good. If I am good at writing, it will be great to work at home in the future! I just imagine...lol But I do know I will never make it! So, let me study hard for my major and make a progress every day! It is painful though! Life is meant to be like this

I haven't worked since 2003 my friend, I had a mental breakdown at work due to being badly bullied, I couldn't take it any longer, the job was stressful and I felt like I was in the middle of management and the customers getting flak from both sides. I don't think many people are happy because they HAVE to work to be able to get money to live, so straight away it becomes compulsory rather than voluntary, if we had to do something voluntary then we don't have to stay, when we are locked into jobs to pay bills and mortgage and survive then we come to despise it. It's the same old routine day after day after day, the monotony, the having to be nice to people you hate! It's all stress. Very few people are lucky enough to find their dream job which they can honestly say they love. Money shouldn't always be the leading factor, enjoying your job should, but sadly these two don't always go hand in hand my friend, have a great weekend!

Never been past Europe my friend! But hopefully I will be going further next year or 2010 to New Zealand. I would love to teach, but it's mostly about paperwork and not the actual teaching which puts me off. I have qualification to work with 0-8 year olds, now that is enjoyable teaching children!

You don't have to face their nonsense anymore. Oh, well, my weekend will be awful anway! I really wanna skip my class though I don't have the audacity to really do that! By the way, if you come to China teaching English, you will be very welcomed by the students! Haha, I just say what I think. Never mind!

Well working in hospital is really a hazardous job. They lacked in sleep and worked long hours. For me there is no perfect job and one time in everyone's life she/he hates the job he's into. Our life is constant searching. People tend to seek some adventure and tend to look for other job when they got bored or tired doing it everyday.

It is a classical sentence. Life is a constant searching. I will bear this in mind. Thanks for your response! Have a great day!

Human being all have something in common.Happy, sad, tired, smile, sweep and so on. we all have feelings, even though sometimes we don't feel the same. But there are no exceptions that sad is sad, and happy is happy. It is true that we can not stand always doing the same things as a routine. It will make us tired ,and even drive us mad. We have to believe that we just go and come everyday, we come across the one we know or not,and then say hello to each other. That bcome a routine just as what I said above. So,we possibly hate the job we are taking, and feel unpleasant. May be sometims you pass by a piece of grassland deliberatly, and you will find the grass have never so green than before.

Hi hiddenwing, I have known many people who love their job. The trick is to know what you are good at and what you enjoy doing. We are all born with certain abilities and in school we love some subjects and dislike others. Those who follow through on the what they love doing usually love their work. Of course everyone has their bad days and naturally will not enjoy any job at such times. Blessings.

Oh, it is so reasonable. When I think about the things I am good at, I feel that I am not quite the bee's knee though. Even if I am good at something, it doesn't mean that I like it. After all, I hope I will kill two birds with one stone! Currently, I just let nature take its course. Blessings!

Avoiding sweeping generalizations is usually wise advice. Certainly, not everyone hates their job. It would be safer to say that most people hate at least certain aspects of their job or one could argue that many people hate their job. Sometimes a change in attitude or approach to work can alleviate problems. Changing jobs may indeed be riskier and more difficult than an adjustment or two in their current setting. While it is true that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, this isn't always the case. I would suggest exhausting all efforts possible before taking the plunge and changing companies or fields. Try to separate worklife with homelife as much as possible and afterhours avoid people/settings that constantly negative or are bringing you down. We all need to recharge. During these times of economic turmoil, it may be difficult and unwise to make a job change if you have solid employment.

It is very dangerous to change a job. This is the reason that most people can only complain! Couldn't agree with you more

to be honest i think everyone hates their job a little because no job is perfect for example im currently working in a care home to train to be a nurse and i love the home and the residents but i hate the pay and the long 12 hour shifts i do. i think everyones going to dislike something about their job
• China

In some Chinese hospitals, the nurses are bossy to the doctors. For example, some doctors asked them to do something! They might say that do it yourself! It doesn't happen in the United states. lol Sorry, I lost my topic. Anyway, have a great day!

I believe that you were on the right track when you suggested that anyone who could not find anything to like about their current job would find a different job equally disagreeable. My work covered a span of 48 years. During that time, I had a number of jobs. Although there were one or more things I disliked about each job (some more strongly than others), I also can still think of something about each job that I did like. My husband and I both quit one job, but it wasn't the job so much as it was the boss. He didn't like women unless they were young and pretty, and he could get in their pants. I was disqualified on both counts. We quit before I got fired.

I think easily 80% of people dont particularly like the job they have and are discontent for one reason or another. I worked as an investment manager after getting my finance degree. The job was pretty good but unrewarding and I didnt particularly care for the 50 hour weeks. I was fortunate to be able to coach soccer on the side. After a few years I turned to coaching fulltime and it was a wonderful move. I have coached for 13 years and love everyday of it. My work weeks are only 15 hours or so and I have tons of free time to live life. When I hear someone griping about hating their job I always tell them to go do something about it. Too many people wallow around without every doing anything. If it sucks then go fix it!

Oh, it is a pity that not everyone is qualified as a coach! Congratulations to you since you have the gift! Have a nice life

I have had many different jobs and at times have hated every one of them. If I hate a job every day then I will do my best to find somethng better but a lot of the time I've mostly enjoyed the jobs and just had odd times when I hated them. I think most people hate their jobs sometmes.

Yeah, this is what I think. Lots of people complain their job things. It is rarely to hear that someone feels so satisfied with one's jobs! Thanks a lot for your response. Have a great day!

I don't think that everyone hate their job, some like their job very much. It all depends on how is the working environment, colleague and boss.

Lots of people would like to complain something! This is part of each of our life! It is not a big deal though! Here is what I know! It could be dangerous to change! On the other hand, the view on the other said may be more exciting as well!
