Good Morning I just read that there will be lay offs at Finch Paper. Everyday the news tells about a closing or cutting back. Will we have more crime due to this? It's worrisome! xoxoxoxoxo

I think so. Desperate times callfor desperate measures. Although i have not come across anyhting drastic yet, I can just picture it now. People doing shady things because they just cant afford what they used to be able to. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

I do not know. There are some who will never go into crime, and they will just work harder, but there are those who the only reason that they have not become criminals is because they are getting paid and these are the ones who will become criminals because they are used to a different style of living. So we will see that those who are basically bad will turn to crime, and those who are basically good will not. It is in the character of the person.

according to all the stats, it always does, crime goes up because people get desperate and they need money to buy things and they don't have it.

Good morning too... I think basically, the crime rates will increase due to poverty. Since the economy falls, it will just follows that more people will be unemployed. And if people don't have income, how will they meet their daily needs? That's the time, crimes comes in. Because these days, people who are already desperate to get some money to support their family.. they can be easily tempted to do some crimes just for money. Bank robbery, Hold ups, snatching, burglary, deceptions, corruptions and the like are just some examples of crimes which originated from the bad economy that we all have experienced nowadays. Hopefully things will get better soon. God Bless!

It is possible we will have an increase in crime due to the changes in the economy. But it is also possible we won't. People are resilent. They learn how to create jobs or find other jobs.

Hello raydene! Did you experience in the time after the big tech bubble 2000 - 2003 that there was a significant rise in crime? I don't believe there will be much more crime. The way of crimes might change. So that there are more robberies of hand bags, the minor crimes might rise but not the big crimes like bank robberies (because they won't have so much money anymore LOL). Normally the poor people don't act like criminals, it will be more the persons in a group who act like this (organized criminals). Just focus on a more optimistic future, even it looks at the moment more like the time of 1929. The government made the fault of not telling the truth earlier. Then the situation wouldn't seem so severe in the last weeks :-(

I have heard that there is already evidence that the crime rate is rising and will get a lot higher before the economy gets back to normal.
