Getting Old...but We're so Young?

Today is my husbands 26th Birthday. It makes me feel like we are getting old. When he turned 20 I gave him flight lessons. When he turned 21 I took him skydiving... and through the years we have wound down to this years gift... a set of pajamas. Is it a sign that we're tired and old? Perhaps I'm reading too much into my own gift. Maybe it just means we are a one income family with a small child to support. Will we be skydiving again when the boomba grows up? I'm just wondering if there are any other people out there that feel like they are getting old too young now days?

Wow, now i feel old. I'm almost 34. I do nothing exciting. I sit at home and take care of my babies. I had them later then I wanted so I may not have the "after they grow up" years to have fun. They are only 2 1/2 years and 4 months. You are definately NOT old. I think you are just settled and more responsible because of your child. You have plenty of time to skydive again.

I'm 7 1/2 years older then my fiance. Kids definately slow you down. I wouldn't trade my girls either.

well I'm a little older than he is... and I know we are young, but a child sure slowed us down... Not that I'd trade him for the world.

Hey, I'm 27! You guys can't be old, that would make me old! I'm going to give myself a very nice gift for my 30th birthday. I'm going to go tandem skydiving. I'd say as long as you are aware of each other's birthdays, old age hasn't set in. It's remembering his birthday only the night before his birthday that makes a person old.

I'm also 27... and its good to know we are still young, maybe we should go skydiving again when I turn 30... I don't know if I have it in me anymore though. I can't bear to think of what would happen to my son if the shoot didn't open.

I guess you're not old then, you're mature. I don't have a child to worry about, but I imagine I would worry about the same thing if I did.

I'll be 29 the next birthday... so yes, after reading your post, I feel much older now. Thanks, glords. I think you will still get to go skydiving again if the interest and enthusiasm for it is still there once your child needs less attention from you guys. I could really relate to your gift-giving and activities planned for the birthdays though. For his birthdays and special occasions, Boyfriend and I have played paintball, gone whitewater rafting, went to a gold mine, etcetera... this year, we just walked around the Presidio and had dinner at a fondue place. I didn't even have a present for him. I hope your husband had a wonderful one...

That sounds really romantic to have the whole day to yourselves... and yum Fondue! I hope your boyfriend had a good one this year as well.
