Overnight bread

I cooked the other day a new bread recipe that you made the bread mix the night before, left it to raise over night and then cooked it in the morning. It was so yummy and good as it meant that I didn't have to wait hours in the day time waiting for it to raise or to get up early to make dough. The children got up to freshly cooked bread, and had warm bread to eat for breakfast

That's so nice for the children. I don't really know anyone that bakes bread anymore and I don't. I've tried it a few times but it didn't turn out so well. I think my children like the fact that I don't try to bake bread anymore

Hi Anne18 You are such a super mum Annie!! I usually cheat and buy the half baked bread from the supermarket and my kids think I am great! Actually they don't they know their 'fresh' bread comes out of a packet, I just want my kids to think I am a super mum!!

Sounds yummy. I have not used a recipe like that. Is there a link where we can find it? I like hot fresh breakfast foods. Hope your kids appreciated it.

sounds absolutely delicious, I don't make my own bread though, I don't have a bread maker and we usually buy bread here in Canada rather than make it ourselves, some people do though, I think it is wonderful that you do.

I do not make home made bread, but I love it. My husband has a friend whose mother makes the best yeast rolls at thanksgiving. I always go to her house just for the bread. She usually gives us a pan to bring home. My mom used to make homebread, but I do not have the patience and do not think that mine would compare to hers.

What a good idea, did you have to turn it at all? We don't make bread because with just the two of us we just can't resist and over eat. But I have made it many times and you're right waiting for it to raise is a pain.

Hi Anne that is wonderful of you to make this recipe. The children are getting genuine home baked bread and I hope that you might save some money when you do it yourself. Despite the monetary issue, it is a satisfaction that your family is eating bread that you have made yourself. © ronaldinu 2008

I simply love warm, fresh bread. Of course, we don't make it at home, but it is available at some bakeries sometimes. :) Cheers and happy mylotting

I used to make my own bread by hand and often left it to rise overnight to cook the next morning. I got lazy though when someone bought me a breadmaker which you put the ingredients in the night before and put a timer on. It starts to cook before you get out of bed and you wake up to a warm freshly cooked loaf. Yummy
