It is reported that a Chicago lady has bought an abandoned house on eBay with a bid of just $1.75. Although she needs to pay $850 in back taxes and yard clean-up costs, it is still dirt cheap stuff. I try to find similar thing on ebay, not a good result yet. Do you think it is a good way to seek a house thru ebay?

Unless you have a signed contract for sale there is nothing forcing the owner to sell a house to anyone who buys it on Ebay. There are also other expenses attached to the purchase of a home...title search, filing fees. If you do try to buy a house on Ebay don't bid too high because Ebay is not very good at getting your money back if the deal turns out to be bad.

Thanks for your advice. I will proceed with caution. In fact, It seems the house was abandoned by its owner. Whom you need to talk with is the manager of a bank. It is nothing associated with the owner anymore, but I agree with you that Ebay is not very good at high-risk purchase, sometimes it only means damage to you.
