Thinking of buying a Laptop

November 17, 2008 2:03am CST
Hi guys, I'm thinking of buying a laptop for under £600. I found one, Samsung R710. It's got everything i think i need. bluetooth, webcam, 4GB RAM lightscribe etc. Seems top of the range. But do you know of any other models which match up to or beat the specs on the Samsung in the same price range. Lemme kno PS. If you know where i can get it cheaper also lemme know

I recently bought a laptop that has almost twice better than my desktop regarding configuration (for example, RAM desktop=1 GB, laptop=2 GB, laptop has faster processor...), but anyhow, my desktop computer acts faster and better than laptop... Funny, isn't it?

i think that problem is to do with the build quality of your computer. If your desktop is made with quality parts and components then it will perform well for its spec and if your laptop is not constructed properly it would perform worse than it's spec.

Guess you're right. After all, my desktop that I bought earlier this year was almost the same price as laptop, and laptop should be at least twice more expensive for the same performance, shouldn't it?

sounds pretty good actually but just to be sure £600 is like 700+ in dollars right?? but if you want to see if you can find something similar or better for the same price try overstock.com, i wouldn't recommend ebay since i bought TWICE through them and those two times i didnt get what i actually expected....

thanks nadooa247, Yea i would'nt buy electronics on ebay or anything over £200/ bout $300. Ive looked all over and the cheapest i think was £549 but it had a reduced spec list. I need to find a way of comparing all the sellers.
