I think almost all average Filipinos love surplus clothing. At first I am the one who is an addict to U.K. and my husband don't like it but now he loves it and enjoyed it very much and even worst than me. They have nice quality and cheaper than brand new shirt.

same here nimnim74...my husband also, he dont like going to ukay stores coz it gives him headache but when i bought him something that he really wants( a type of jacket that he hardly find in the mall and expensive..) he really appreciate it and even ask me to check on the store if theres new arrival every now and then..! weh! another good thing about ukay is that after washing it.. you can never say if it comes from ukayan or not! have a nice day!

I like and i enjoy doing it. I can say that there are lots of good clothes and I only buy ukay-ukay when it is for sale at five pesos. I usually buy 20 pieces every time I do my ukay-ukay, and I also have a schedule when to do it.

Hi there! Welcome to mylot. I have been and bought some stuffs from ukay-ukay (thrift shop) and most of the time they are in a good condition. It is fun and cheap to do some shopping in ukay-ukay but we also need some patience to get a nice and good condition clothes or etc.

hi ckyera, I'm a fan of ukay ukay myself.. i love the feeling of rummaging through a pile of clothes and suddenly, you find a great top-a great match for a nice pair of jeans; There's a feeling of excitement when you have a great find.. Best of all it's cheap and if your lucky, you can still haggle for the price!!

My sister once took me to Bambang. There were really lots of stuff to buy there. We ended up with a few good bedcovers and some slacks. I was only surprised to find that they even sell lingerie, they looked good actually. They don't look like secondhand clothes but overruns.

when i was still in baguio which was then the 1st place where "wag-wag" or ukay-ukay was famous for i would have a weekend set where either my friends or my sister-in-law would go shopping in ukay-ukay stalls all around the city. branded bags to shirts to pants & shoes, name it & they have it! it's fun rummaging through piles of balikbayan boxes & checking out what fitas you. or a contest to strangers of who will get the nicest dress 1st. to be honest i'm really not into the branded ones coz as long as the clothes fit me or if it's really my type then i would get it. i even remember local showbiz actors & actresses would go to baguio just to buy ukay-ukay items too. then it was that time already that the sellers noticed people selecting branded clothes & since then on they would segregate those known brands & sell it to a price almost equivalent or even higher to that of a brand new. it was already bias so i stopped buying & opt for brand new clothes.

Yes, in fact I just bought a few pairs of curtain. I said pairs because it's not at all in sets like that one if we order. Whatever is there, sometimes it has 2 pairs, sometimes just 1 piece. But I do love it's cloth and it's somewhat affordable compared to new ones.
