It was cold this morning when my daughter and I had to leave for the bus stop. 30 degrees. She had on her heavy coat and gloves. I went looking for my gloves. My hubby had gotten me a nice pair of gloves last Christmas. My daughter had then picked out a matching pair of mittens for me. I was able to find one glove, and one mitten. In the interest of time, I wore one of each. My hands were warm. But I felt silly. So my question is, would you have left the house like this? Or opted for the colder hands?

I will admit to even wearing different shoes. I have worn different socks and even colors and different colored gloves. I put comfort before fashion. I may have looked silly but I was at least as you said warm.

I would have opted for silly looking warmth over cool looking frozen any day of the week.

I hate to wear gloves, so I probably would have opted for cold hands personally. If it were really, really cold and I really needed gloves though I would have worn the mismatched pair.

Since I know we are still getting used to the cold weather here I'd probably taken whatever I could find. Plus you were at the bus stop, whereas I have to drop her off at school and stand around til the bell rings. So if I did get the gloves I'd probably just go with out as it's only a few minutes and I'd have to hold my ds so they'd see my mismatched mittens, as I can't just put my hands in my pockets while I'm holding the baby.

Ah heck, most of the time I'm getting my kids on the bus in my pj's and slippers, gloves would have made no matter to me, lol. Luckily the bus picks them up right in front of the house, so I never have to leave the front porch. When it gets really cold I will just watch from the window inside and send them out when it gets here.
