This is Deedee my new puppy she is 6 months old. She seems to be getting along with Petie and Abagail so far. Sammy is afraid is of Deedee so far. I think Deedee will be a nice fit to our family. Deedee is afraid and stressed right now and keeps crawling on my lap. She was shaking and shivering so I put her little jacket on her. I do not think she is cold I think it is stress and she needed something to help comfort her. She is not to hot because she is not panting. When I picked her up I had to have my driver take me to another town about 15 miles south of here. I asked another friend to come also. The three of us went to pick Deedee up. When Deedee first met my friend she jumped up on her, and gave her a large skin tear on her arm. I sure hope my friend will be ok. There is a photo of Deedee in her jacket. She is so cute. Do you guys put jackets on your dog? Does your dog like to wear his/her jacket?

We got a few coats for Zoe because the roomie thought she'd like them because of her bad leg. Nope, not gonna have anything to do with them! I found them a new home on Freecycle last summer! I'm glad to see her tail wasn't docked, she's a rat terrier? They can be as trembly as Chihuahuas.

At 6 months, she might get a little bigger, but not much. I think you are doing a good job transitioning her into your home. Some dogs (and cats for that matter) are easy going and make changes easy, and some don't.

She is a challenge she not warmed up to my hubby. He has only been home early in the morning and in the late night. She has not had a chance to get to know him. She also wants to continue to bark at Abagail and Sammy. It will not be easy to get her accumulated to the family.

She is a rat terrier and I am glad her tail was not docked either. Her ears are so cute because at times one goes only half way up. She is only about 12 inches and at 6 months I do not think she will get much bigger. She is not use to sleeping in a kennel so she woke us up a few times scratching and crying/barking to get out of it. I let her out this morning when she was quiet so she did not think I could let her out when she was having a fit. I did put the kennel in another room so she was not as loud as she could have been. She will get use to sleeping in the kennel and then I will put her in our room with Petie.

Deedee looks so cute wearing that shirt... in my country... we are not used to seeing dogs with clothes on... so whenever i see one in photos... i would always smilee... I think Deedee is still in the adjustment period... and after a few days... she will be familiar with her new surroundings... and be more comfortable... of course with the help of Petie... that would be sooner than expected...

I hope Petie won't get jealous of her... some dog can be like that... but if they are already running around the house... i guess the are getting along pretty fine... i wish i can have a dog of my own someday...

Deedee got her name changed to Daisy because it was so close to Petie. She is learning but she is still a puppy and was not taught any manners which she needs constant monitoring. She is such a challenge.

Deedee was running around the house with Petie this morning. She is still wearing her coat but it is chilly in the house. It is 65 degrees in the house so kind of cook for a short haired doggy. Deedee is sleeping on her bed under my desk. I am glad she finally got off my lap. She is like a two year old she stretches her front paws up and does a little jump to be picked up. She cannot jump up on my lap or she can and has me buffaloed. I am sure your daughter does the same thing. Deedee even does it when I am standing up, she stands on her back feet and stretches up and wants to be picked up. She came from a home that had two little girls one looked about the age of 10 the other one was 8. I think they carried her around like a baby doll.

I guess all animals are just like us, it probably takes time to adjust and feel their way around their new space, I gues it must be quite frightening really, I am sure it will only take a couple of days...

I think Deedee will settle down in a few days to a week. She needs to learn some manners but I am sure she is going to be a fast learner.

When the kids were little I did not want a dog. Once the kids were in high school then we got bigger we got a dog. Then the kids where able to take care of it. Now the kids are adults and live on their own so I have my pets for my babies. I have two dogs and two cats now. I only had two children. heehee

First of all, what a little cutie DeeDee is. It will take some time for her to settle into your family. I love that cute little jacket that you have on her. Some of my dogs wear jackets and some do not. JT hates wearing is jacket so much that he tore it off and peed on it. LOL So he does not wear one anymore. My Miss Diva dog, Queen, will not go outside if it is cold out if she is not wearing her jacket.

I do not want JT to tell my Petie what he did with his jacket because Petie does not like his jacket. He has not tore it off yet. He just does not walk in it. Deedee's name is Diva and I do not like it so I am in the process of changing it to Deedee so I have Deedee and Petie.

Oh well he likes to be the streaker. heehee. My Petie is the same way. Petie was sniffing the little dog through a hole in the fence. They where nose to nose and I was talking to him. His name was Oscar. Well Petie did not like my friend and I talking to Oscar through the fence because he walked around and hiked his leg on Oscar's nose. We where so shocked I gasped and my friend and I looked at each other. and she said. "Piss on Oscar and we started laughing. We could not believe Petie would do such a thing. Oscar did not mind he just moved down a knot hole in the fence and stock his nose through the fence. Which made it even funnier. Now if anything shocking happens we say "Well Piss on Oscar."

Deedee looks cute when putting on the jacket. Perhaps your dog hasn't get used to the new environment, thus she was shivering. Hope that she'll get used to the new home very soon. I don't put any jackets or clothes on my dog, it's a Labrador, and where I live is very hot, I don't think it's suitable to let her wear any clothes. Also, she likes to play with water very much.

Labs look silly in jackets and I think you are wise not to put clothes on your baby because I think she would get to hot. I will not be dressing Deedee when it gets hot. I have a built in pool Deedee is sure interested in it. She may be swimming this summer. I do not want to encourage it now that it is so cold and the water is so cold. We are down in the 30's this morning. Not so cold in some parts of the world but cold for a little dog to be swimmming.

Your puppy is so cute in a jacket. I renamed Deedee to Daisy and she is such a challenge. She still is barking at my hubby. She thinks she is a baby and needs to be on my lap at all times. I keep telling her she is a doggy and needs to be on the floor at times. She wears her jacket and also burrows under the blankets. She is a little cutie.

that's funny that you write this discussion because about 2 months ago i got a jack russel puppy and her name is daisy. she gets along with all the cats and even wrestles with one of them all the time its really funny. actually a couple weeks ago i got her a jacket because its starting to get cold and stuff. she doesn't really shake but i still put it on her if its cold outside.

Deedee came from a home with two little girls. She has finger nail polish on her nails and the jacket is homemade stitched by hand. I am sure the girls made the jacket. My friend has the some jackets that may fit her so I do not have to buy her any. I am sure I will be buying a new jacket or two for her. She is a lap sitter. She has not left my side nor my lap since we got home. I finally got her to sleep in her bed on the floor so I can type.

Awww! Your puppy is sooo cute! What's her breed? It's a nice coincidence too that just yesterday my father brought home a little puppy dachshund. He is light brown all over and has got fat paws that makes him look even more adorable. =)

My little baby is a rat terrier. She is such a little baby who thinks she needs to be in my lap at all times. I think she is use to be carried around by her previous owners. What a challenge. Good luck with your new baby
