What do you do to wind down when you have had a really bad day?

November 18, 2008 1:00pm CST
When I have a really bad day I like to stand in the middle of a field and scream. Then I go into the house get a nice glass of wine and have a nice long soap in the bath singing to one of my CDs. I have a terrible voice and I feel sorry for my husband when I have to do this.

Screaming is good! But I have noisy and insensitive neighbours beside me that seem to have that angle covered on a daily basis, so I have needed to come up with my own methods to wind down. I tend to either veg out in front of the TV or get on the computer of an evening as some of the standard ways to relax a little after a hectic day. One of my more unique methods though is to launch myself into a crazy little dance as well and I do this most days. If I REALLY want to let myself go then I will imitate an orangutan and run around the apartment like a maniac waving both my arms widly above my head; but this is a rare occurence these days and I like to keep that one up my sleeve for hard core situations only.

By the way. Why did I get the degree? I have been off line because of a virus. To my computer not me. So have been out of touch.

Sleeping the day away sounds like a good idea to me. I might try it next time. Thankyou for your response.

Bubble Bath - mmm Ways to Relax
I like to make a hot cup of coffee of coco and slide down into a hot tub of bubble bath and open a book to read. Sometimes I just skip the book and light some candles and just relax in the bubble bath. Sometimes I'll go into a dark room for 30 minutes to an hour and lay down with no one bugging me. (I turn the phone off in that room whenI do this) lol

Turning the phone of is definately the thing to do. Sometimes I think if someone rang me at that moment I would throw the phone at a wall. Thankyou for your response.

Listening to music or watching movies. Surfing the net at times helps. Going for really long walk clears the mind and puts things in proper perspective.

Well everyone has their different ways of dealing with things don't they? I like to have a nice hot cup of tea and a nice bubble bath doesn't hurt either. You know, sometimes just sitting down and relaxing for a little while helps me to put things in a better perspective before I carry on with the next project.

I only do the screaming as a last resort bamakelly. Usually I can manage to unwind with a nice cup of tea and a good book. Thankyou for your response.
