i'm pregnant with twins and am wanting to crochet a baby afghan. i want to make 1 for each of the girls i'm having. i've been crocheting for years and pattern difficulty is not an issue. i'm having a hard time finding a pattern that i would like to make for the girls. does anyone know of any sites that have free patterns for baby afghans?

Congratulations on your double blessing!!! Try crochet pattern central - they have well categorized links to patterns. The URL for their baby afghans is http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/baby_afghans.php . I hope this helps you find something you like.

yes i did. there is one with a heart border and you can personalize what name you want in the middle. i'm going to make one of those for each of the girls. i'm already almost done the one for Elianna. In a couple of days, I will start on the one for Isabella. thanks so much for providing this link for me.

It looks like this is a few months old and you probably already found a pattern, but just for future reference this is my favorite site for crafts: www.herrschners.com/ You can buy patterns, but I mostly buy kits which come with all the yarn you need. I only crocheted one blanket! I did OK but since then I've wanted to make my own patterns so I played in Excel and made a pattern but have yet to try and make it. I gotta remember how to crochet first :) That was 4 years ago that I made a blanket but I saved the instructions and hope I can do it again.

oh a great one you can do is one from i think its crochet today , they should have it on their site too .... anywho its usues the pounders and i have seen that they are coming out with baby yarn in poundes as well so there is an idea for 12$ you can have 2 baby blankets ! and if your like me you can also add on while they grow!just keep adding rounds and when they get to about 10 add strips to the top nd bottom to start to make it a rectangle and then start going back in rounds ! you shold see my kids baby gans ! when they started to grow out of them i would let them choose the next color , lol boy are they colorful!! but they hold so many memories! and they like their baby gans the best ;) ~M~
