Guitar Hero World Tour- Get Ready to Rock Out!!!

My husband and I splurged and got Guitar Hero World tour about 3 days ago. Guitar Hero is pretty much the only video game I like to play. My husband usually didn't like playing GH with me because I play on expert all the time, and he just couldn't compete with me! Guitar Hero World Tour was the perfect solution for our dilemma! With Guitar Hero World Tour, we can both play at the same time. I like playing the lead guitar, and he likes the bass. What's really awesome about the game is that anyone can play on the level of their choosing. So our 8 year old also feels comfortable playing with us! She loves the drums and is actually doing really well with them. I like Guitar Hero World Tour much better that Rock Band 2. There's a great variety in the songs, from Michael Jackson to No Doubt. Of course it's got the great rock songs, like Korn and legands like Billy Idol. Even though we're in our 30's, we are kids at heart when it comes to this game. So let's hear it! Anyone else give this game a try yet? How does it compare to the other group play/simulation games out there?

Guitar hero world tour looks fab. We have purchased it for our family for Christmas so it is tucked away in the cupboard. Can't wait to try it. I don't suppose you know if the microphone works with some of the other singing software out there. my 8 year old is keen on getting disney sing it for christmas and its much cheaper to buy the game without the microphone. You must be really good on the guitar. I can confidently do medium on the last version of guitar hero and have dabbled in hard but can't get on with the orange notes. maybe i need to play it more often. I'm looking forward to trying the drums and my daughter can't wait for the singing...although I don't think she will know that many of the songs initially. Have fun and keep up the rocking. Nothing wrong with being big kids in our 30's. We love it too. xxx twinkleD xxx

Getting this game was a great idea for your family. Instead of my husband sitting there and playing his games alone, we all can participate and have fun together! It's great family bonding time. I do okay on the guitar. I'm a music teacher, so reading the notes comes easy for me. I can play on medium on the drums. But Hard is a whole other level of drumming! Your 8 year old will LOVE this. I've never heard of Disney Sing it though, I have to find out a little more about that. I don't think the microphone will work with anything other than the video game console though. I bet you can't wait to take it out of the cupboard!

I have read about this game so many times in the past but never actually played it yet. It does sound like a lot of fun and even without knowing all the other choices, the song variety examples you have provided are appealing to me already! I am a kid at heart too so would undoubtedly rock away with the best of 'em if I had a game like this.

The next time you go into a Best Buy or a Circuit City, make sure you stop by and try it out. After you try it, you won't want to leave the store with out it. If you like the songs that I mentioned, you'll love the other 76+ songs that comes with the game. You just have to give it a try just once!

Thanks for your help about tags. I don't think I completely understood what they were until you explained them! I appreciate it!

I personally hate the song list for Guitar Hero World Tour because Rise Against is the best song on there, I don't care what anyone says.

I love the game and the setlist is better than Rockband 2's, but (maybe it's just my game) the loading takes FOREVER in that game. I have it for PS2, and it honestly takes 5 minutes or more to load a song sometimes. Sometimes the songs themselves even glitch if I pause in the middle of them -_- It's pretty tough to hit the notes when the guitar you hear doesn't match what you're playing...and then for some reason the drumming is off too :O But I still love it lol
