I went to one last night! I hadn't been to one for over twenty years. A long time ago it was like a staple in the house and I still have tons of what I got back when I was first married and it was a hot item. I only bought two items last night because living alone I don't have a need for that kind of containers. They have alot of new products that look interesting but in my estimate they are also very expensive! I did enjoy going though. It's been a long time since I have been to any parties of that type. Have you went to a Tupperware party recently? Do you own alot of tupperware?

Let Me tell You as a single Guy I would tell My future Wife to just use old cool whip containers, but 30 years ago everyone was having tupperware parties and the stuff just accumulated to the point where most of it was not getting used, the cabinet was so full We could hardly find what We needed easily. She started using old cool whip containers. You know what I mean? Even Chinese take out started coming in these wonderful reuseable plastic things and zip lock makes stuff as good as tupperware that You can throw away if You don't feel like cleaning it. She has recently given away most of Our tupperware to a Needy Niece.

It has been ages since I went to or hosted a tupperware party. I used to have so much stuff. When I moved I got rid of a lot of it, actually I got rid of most of it. I think I may have one tumbler left. I had way too much of it. I would buy things because I thought it was a good idea, then when I got it, I didn't use it at all. I imagine the products are really expensive now.

I dont get invited to tupperware parties but oh i get the invites for all them other parties it seems these days there are so many of them. You got tastefully simple parties, jewlery parties, candle parties and the naughty parties. And well i cant afford any of them. As for my tupperware collection it is very small like hardly any. Some day i will buy some but not from a party its just too much money for me.

Hello When i was a kid I remember and my aunts sometimes go to one of these . She my mom once bought a real nice set for my father (a lunch set ) he took it to work for years . When i first started dating my fiance his mom went to one and invited me and I had no reason to go . It would of been nice to go to one a few years back tho when we bought this house . Much stuffs like that was needed . Thankfully my fiance has a gram that is always buying us cool things that are needed for the house !

tupperware - tupperware containers
I have never been to a tupperware party. Nor have I ever been invited to one. This may sound like a stupid question but what exactly is a tupperware party? What kind of things do you do there?

The demonstrator shows you how their products work.....and then takes your orders while you have coffe and dessert or other tempting goodies....

I think it was like around 5 years ago. I enjoyed it though but I agree with you their items are good but really are very expensive. I think its because tupperwae products have lifetime warranty.

Yes.....they replace anything if you just bring it to them!

I have heard that you can still get those things replaced for free if there is any problem with them. You would think it would cost them a fortune but I suppose most people do not bother getting them replaced under warranty.

Tupperware parties......eeeeeeeeeek! I haven't been to one of those in at least 20 years too. Back then they seemed to be all the rage, and everybody and their brother was having one. I still have all mine that I bought back then too. Except for an occasional lid or two, those things seem to last forever lol. I have a whole box of assorted TWare 'stuff' back in my freezer room that I don't use too often, like the picnic stuff, cake and pie keepers, lunch box carriers. Sure I use them once in a while, but not often enough to clutter up the kitchen cabinets. I still think it's expensive, I mean, what does it cost to extrude a piece of plastic?! A few nickels worth? I liked the parties though, they were usually fun and a good excuse to get out with the girl friends.

It's probably been close to 35 years since I went to a Tupperware party. I still have and use some of the items I bought. They were always a great product but I do agree with you about Tupperware being expensive. Today the cheaper, reusable items can be bought at the grocery store for fridge and freezer storage and do a good job.

I use clear, heavy, plastic holders for my crafts. They were initially cookie holders but someone ate the cookies..lol They are great and I can also stick labels on the front. Then I shove them under the bed.

I would love to go to one or at least be able to order. I know Tupperware sells a onion/potatoe bin that fits in the fridge. I'd love one for onions. I just don't hear about tupperware anymore.

They still have those parties? LOL I have not been to one in such a long long time. I can't even think of the last one I went to. I think my daughter went to one not too long ago and she said they were expensive, she bought one or two things she said to help the girl out who was having the party. I used to go to them pretty often and would always buy something. I still have several things that are tupperware and they are still in real good condition. They do stand behind their products.

I hadnt heard of a Tupperware party in years - but then agian, I didn't really follow it. It was just to expensive to buy. I could always find the same thing cheaper at the store on sale. But they used to be "the thing", didn't they? I always thought it odd that people could get so excited over plastic bowls! I always enjoyed the little trinket things that the hostess would give away as prize for a game that was played at the party - those were the best part! Of course, I never won any of them!

I went to one last year. I only bought gifts for my Real Estate business ( we give the buyers/sellers a thank you gift at closing). I agree, way to expensive! Besides they have cheaper ones that are disposable. I hated having to store them and then keep the tops and bottom together. I think I have one or two bowls left from when I was first married, and I have been married for 40 years.

Hey Jill, Well it has been years for me since my last Tupperware party. I used to love to go especially if they were serving punch with a punch. The few I've been to were always a lot of fun. But eventually I realized how expensive and not worth it the product was. My biggest irritation back then was how easily it would absorb smells and colors. Then they came up with other good products and less expensive like Rubber Made. That works for me. leenie

I was invited to one more than thirty years ago and I hated it. I sort of had to go because my sister-in-law was hosting it. I didn't know what to expect, and I thought the whole things was stupid. I hate being with a group of chattering women anyway, so that made it even worse. I would never go to another one, no matter who invited me. Plastic containers from the store are just as good and not nearly as expensive, so I tend to think that people who buy Tupperware are either suckers, or they just like to go to parties. No thanks.

The last time I went to one was about 3 years ago and yes they have some interesting things but you can find the same products that do the same thing and they cost 10% of what you pay for Tupperware. You pay for the free things they give, you pay for the person that holds the party (you know how they get % off or free things) you pay for the person selling the product and the rest. Their products are very expencive.

Hey Jill. I think going to a Tupperware Party sounds sort of fun. I've seen the order books recently and I agree with you about the pricing. One of my nieces sold Tupperware within the last 5 years and she invited me to a party 3 or 4 years ago, but I didn't go. I own some Tupperware but after my son grew up, I found I didn't need many of the pieces I had so I gave them away. Plus they take up so much cabinet space. I do have the flat "cake taker" thing that has a harvest gold colored handle, and 3 or 4 of the flat rectangular containers. I also have the soup cup thingy that has a vent hole in the top that you can open and close. That is such a great container to use to take soup and stuff like chicken and rice to work.

Like you, I have not been to a tupperware party for years. I still have some of my plastics with me, expensive plastics- expensive plastics, that is; and they come in handy at times. What I love most was the meal containers-lunch boxes, very durable and easy to carry. Cheers, and happy mylotting.

my mum has a lot, really a lot cos she used to be an agent for them about 20+ years ago. during those days the design were simpler and she would have one at home almost once a month and my neighbours would come to our house and mingled around and i had a good time too cos they will bring their children and we would have fun. since then, my mum stop the job and i did not attend any. i have seen their designs recently in the mart and must say they look a lot different and colourful than last time. also the price is more costly.
