Do you put up a Christmas tree every year?

This is of course to those people who celebrate Christmas, but if you don't then you can still respond. I am not going to have on this year. I don't really see the big importance of them. I don't have any extra space to put it in and I don't have children or anything, and my cat would probably play with the ornaments and knock it down. What about you? Do you think they are important?

I am glad that you love the decorating. :) Why do you wait until December 1st? :) I am just curious. :) I usually do it the day or so after Thanksgiving. :) But, it is different for each person. :) Happy posting to you as well! :)

Yes, I put one up every year. I have a nice fake one that looks just like a real tree. Nowadays I put it up more for the enjoyment of my kids and grandkids than I do for myself. I do enjoy seeing it though, all lit up and filled with the ornaments and decorations from Christmas's past. I have all of my kids ornaments they made throughout their school years, and now I have the pleasure of putting my grandkids 'special stuff they made' on too. In some ways I think it's important. All of my elders have passed now, and just sitting and looking at the tree always reminds me and the wonderful holidays we used to have together. For your cat...here's what I do with my kitties lol. I sprinkle the bottom branches of the tree with pepper from my kitchen shaker. They have never tipped over the tree again since I started doing that. Now if they do go by the tree, they sleep peacefully underneath and leave the tree-climbing and ornaments alone.

We don't plan to put up a Christmas tree. I don't think I've had a Christmas tree in my apartment for almost 5 years, if not longer. I've talked about getting a tree that looks more like something you'd see on Halloween, and decorating it with skulls and bats, but haven't done that yet. I enjoy Christmas, it's just not my favorite holiday. :)

Yes, I put up a Christmas tree every year. Sometimes I don't want to. They take a lot of work to put up. And then when the holidays are over, it is even MORE work to take everything down and put it all away! But, it sure is pretty when it IS up. I think that you can celebrate without decorating. It is a lot of hard work but usually worth it. But, it just depends on the person. :)

Yes, we do put a tree every year, the exception was two years ago when my husband had surgery in December. We knew we could put the tree up before he had the surgery but we also knew we would have a problem taking it down during his recovery. Our trees have changed a lot over the years. When our children were young we had live [read real] trees with loads of child-made or child selected ornaments. As the children grew older our live trees had a more tradition look. Over time we added more and more heirloom quality handcrafted ornaments. As we got older and moved south for retirement our tree became artificial, to the point of being permanently decorated. It was also not dismantled but stored away fully loaded. Last year we again switched, we now have a fiber optic tree. The tradition is important to us while the details have a tendency to evolve. Besides having a tree the real center of our special decor for Christmas is our nativity set, we honor the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. Blessings and peace to all.

I put one up every year. This year though, I am thinking of getting a small table top one where I can set it up on a table and put the presents around it. Although I love putting it up, I HATE taking it down and no one wants to help me, so I saw some very pretty small ones which I might pick up on the way home today and put it up this weekend. It's not important, but it sure is pretty!

Yes, we do put Christmas tree every year, we kinda do it out of habit and don't want to missed putting it up. I really like seeing it every night with colorful lights and colorful decorations, quite makes me feel happy and content just looking at, kinda remove my stress too. For me, putting up Christmas tree is really important part of celebrating Christmas here in our house.

When I was growing up, we always had a Christmas tree. It was really important to my mom. When I moved out of my parents' house, I didn't have a Christmas tree for several years. Last year, we had our first Christmas tree for Christmas. I bought an artificial tree with lights in it after Christmas two years ago. I'm not a huge fan of real trees because they always leave those little things everywhere. Anyway, I like having one for Christmas. It makes it feel a little more like Christmas and me and my son have fun decorating the tree.

I think the Christmas tree is one of the many symbols you can put in your house to celebrate Christmas. But I personally don't think that every home should have to put one in their homes. Ofcourse I think it would look nice to have a Christmas tree in a house but if you are the type of person who would enjoy just having a simple small Christmas ornament or a wreath then it is fine, it's the spirit of Christmas that counts.

Yes, there will be one up in my house. Sometimes it gets kind of annoying, because I too have the pet problem and my dogs often will take down the ornaments, which means you just have to hang them a bit higher :) but christmas just isn't the same without a tree sitting in your house somewhere, in my opinion :)

This is an individual question. If it is a live tree, then I suggest that you don't put it up till 10 days before Xmas. When in the house, it drops needles in the dry atmosphere, and you will have them all over the house, also not good if you have pets. Buy the tree and leave it outside for a few days, before you put it up. Artificial tree can be put up anytime, it seems these days. I like to wait until the 15th December, then the whole season is not dragged out and I can enjoy my tree over xmas, without being totally fed up looking at it.!!!

We always put up a tree. I like to look at Christmas decorations. It puts me more in the mood for the holiday. Everyone has their own way of celebrating Christmas for me, putting up a tree is part of our celebrating. We have an artificial tree that we've had for over 30 years. It's still in good shape but every year we think of getting a new one with the lights already on it. But then we look at them and they are so expensive so we think - let's wait til next year lol.

Putting a christmas tree up is a tradition we keep in our household everywhere. Even if we don't have that much money to spend on a real tree we pull down the fake one from our loft and decorate it. Always find that I don't feel christmasy until the tree and all the ceiling decorations have been put up. It's only a small fake tree we'll use this year but it does the job and when it's decorated you would never know the difference. I know most of the ornaments on the tree tends to fall off or if you have a real tree it tends to lose its pines and make a bit of a mess...but that's all part of the fun of it...afteral it only happens once every year. Makes me laugh when I think of my posh uncle and aunt. Every year they buy a massive tree which never fits in their house so they have to cut the top off so that it fits the room.
