The mirror crashed on the floor!

And every bit and piece of it are scattered everywhere! The crash was so loud I jumped out of my chair and little Nicholas in my tummy was disturbed as well! I was you know, busy with work, (working at home) when it suddenly happened. I was like "what the $##%$^&%^!" I stared at the mess on the floor. Then it brought me to tears. It's just a mirror, a cheap mirror I bought somewhere. But then I was thinking of something else -- that it may be a bad omen, that something bad might happen. Oh no! I know it's ridiculous. The mirror is cheap, it fell from the handle, that's the end of it. Still.. I can't help but think about bad things... Sigh! Have you had this experience? Have you had bad thoughts as well? I guess I need to relax for a while...

Hi dear Jo, I know I'm silly, was just sad it was broken . I'm kinda ok now, getting a little sense . I'm fine after my "ordeal" last Monday, I had a bad day with my prenatal visit, but everything's fine now (I hope). Baby Nico's still kicking all the time, always happy, my baby boy

It's a long story you see, you might fall asleep reading about it But then I'm glad everything turns out fine so I have a follow-up post about it here: http://littlenicholas.com/2008/11/20/thank-god-little-nicholas-is-safe/. I haven't been mylotting for the past few days because of this, but I'm ok now.

We all have these kind of experiences and try to make connections of the most harmless accidents with something evil.It is not so.It is just an accident which can happen to anyone. So forget it and be cheerful. And Don't forget to but a quality mirror with a good handle.

I don't believe in bad omens. i believe there is enough real stuff in life to worry about, without believeing in that crap. don't worry about it. Just do what you need to do to keep you and your baby healthy, get the mirror bits off the floor, save them and maybe use the bits in a pretty collage or something (I would) and go on with your life.

Hi dear, I know I'm being plain silly, and I've somewhat getting back my sense right now I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, it's just a cheap mirror . I don't think I'll make a collage out of it though, I'm so clumsy right now being on my 9th month and might get myself cut by the sharp edges, but it's a great idea anyways!

I did a little research on this because I never really have figured out what it ment this is what I found. I think it's kinda silly but it's amazing how people put things together way back then. "Superstition and folklore deal with mirrors A LOT. They are used for conjuring. They are used to foretell the future. ... etc. The mirror was once thought to be a portal into the spirit world (restless spirits and demons; not heaven). Breaking a mirror would unleash restless and evil spirits previously trapped by the mirror. Before mirrors existed, there were other such portals that should not be disturbed."

Wow! You really set aside some time for research! Great work! It's silly alright, but yeah, people can formulate some ideas and then spread them as if they're true. But oh well, I believed in a minute or two, had been silly then LOL!

You do need to take a breath for a while. Dont be paranoid on things like this. It will not be good for condition. Anyway, its some supertitious beliefs that we do get rid of. Just pray that nothing bad will happen.

I think you should stop stressing about it. Its not all bad luck if you dont think too much about the broken mirror.

I am not superstitious. However my grandma was really superstitious. She thought tha breaking mirrors at home was a bad omen. I don't think that this is true. But I had to hear a long list of bad omens she had due to broken mirrors. (c) ronaldinu 2009 - the more people I meet-the more I love my dog
