I have watched this show off and on since I was 5. I just am in shock. Which one do you watch? How would you feel if your show did this? Thanks to budget cuts "Days" execs reportedly had to let go of the highly-paid actors in order to keep their show on NBC for another 18 months, but with a bloated cast of 31, couldn't they have axed some of the newbies instead of these beloved vets?

Days of our lives was the one I watched when I did watch it. I am sorry to hear they had to do a hatchet job of the cast members especially the golden ones. I agree the newbies should have went. Although I would guess they didn't go because they would have more story lines to write for them. Some of the older ones there have been there done that on alot of things and they are thinking fresh people fresh ideas and story lines but I will say this it won't be the same and I think they might lose alot of people who were fans because they cut some of the good ones that were favorites maybe?

That is terrible. They should have let the new people go. Alot of people will stop viewing now because they will miss their favorites.

I watched that show for a bit when I was a teen, but couldn't stay into it for long. I think this is probably going to turn away many of the shows fans, and before long they'll probably cancel the show.

From the outside that would seem to be the best route, but you have to think that Soap Operas are just another business. They needed budget cuts, so they cut the biggest things out of their budget that aren't bringing in money. I don't follow Days of Our Lives, but I figure that is the reasoning for cutting the highly-paid actors first. I wonder what they are going to do to further down the line. I hope they aren't going off the air like passions.
