Have you ever missed something so important that you feel regretful?

It was but last minute. I noticed an email that I missed!
"I am contacting you from the world grad school tour in your town. I am pleased to say that a professor in *** has shown great interest in your profile. He would be attending our event on the 10th November and keen to set up a meeting with you before the event to discuss the PHD options. Please contact me as soon as possible to make sure weather you would like to get the interview!"
Actually, I woundn't go the university! However, it would be a golden opportunity, once in a blue moon, to talk with a great American university professor anyway! I felt terrible now. Notwithstanding, tomorrow is another day! Haha
It is normal for me to feel regretful, isn't it?

Regret for missed opportunities is perfectly normal, but it would not be productive to keep beating yourself up over it. Since you were not really interested in attending that particular university, have you considered that you might have been taking up the professor's time that he could have been spending with someone who was actually interested? Your loss may have been another student's gain.

It was a little upset when I found the mail, which was out of date! After thinking it over, I realized how unreasonable and selfish I was to think like that. How come I waste someone's precious time for nonsense anyway?
Luckily, god blessed me that I didn't do the stupid thing!
I guess I was so anxious to gain victory that I was carried away by my vanity sometimes like some hanger-on people. This is really such a shame on so many levels! Once you lose the way, you lose yourself! Life doesn't mean to work like this!

Yeah, I missed the train last month. Accordingly, I lost the chance to visit my friends. For one thing, it was too hard to get another ticket! On the other hand, my time was not available!
